Default India Tour of Bangladesh, December 2022

Schedule:
First ODI: Dec 4, Mirpur
Second ODI: Dec 7, Mirpur
Third ODI: Dec 10, Mirpur

First Test: Dec 14-18, Chattogram
Second Test: Dec 22-26, Mirpur

I hope none our players will be allowed to participate in Abu Dhabi T10 (well, maybe except Mrittunjoy), and will be forced to focus preparing for this series.

I wonder - for the ODI series that will take place a month after end of our T20 WC campaign, should we expect to see a similar XI from the T20I team, with couple of changes to accommodate Tamim and Mushfiq? Will Riyad be able to hold on to his spot in the ODI team or will the management carry on with Yasir and Nurul?

Shanto's heroic against Zimbabwe, the way he batted in the match, may encourage the management to try him in the ODI series as well, keeping Litton at one down. But, imo, that will be unjust towards Bijoy, the top scorer from Zimbabwe ODI series.

As for Riyad, imo, his fielding has become a greater liability than his batting, and may cost him the place in the ODI squad as well. As much disappointment Yasir has been in T20I, I think he will continue to have the backing of Tamim and rest of the team management to keep his spot in the ODI squad.

My XI would be -

Tamim
Bijoy
Litton
Shakib
Mushfiq
Afif
Mosaddek
Miraz
Taskin
Hasan/Ebadot
Fizz

Bench: Shanto, Yasir, Nasum, Shoriful

Soumya will probably be the only one to be overlooked from the T20I team, unless he can manage a miracle against India or Pakistan next week.

If it were up to me, instead of carrying Nurul on the bench, I would ask him to play a match or two in BCL, before the start of the Test series.

Mashrafe and Athar Ali recently voiced opinions that players from 2020 U/19 batch (Joy, Hridoy, Akbar, etc) should start to get more opportunities in the national team. I suspect they will have to wait little longer.

India is sending her full strength squads. Jadeja should be fit in time for the series, but Bumrah is not coming.

ODI squad: Rohit Sharma (captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan, Rajat Patidar, Rahul Tripathi, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Shikhar Dhawan

Test squad: Rohit Sharma (captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, KS Bharat, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur

Why is India sending their full strength team..I mean they can send for ODI series as we can be a handful in ODIs specially at mirpur but why in tests..their players are playing non stop..they can send Tamil Nadu collage team and that team will beat us in tests..baffling choice by the Indian selectors

^^I guess we can blame Rahul Dravid, he's a stickler and refuses to undermine us.

Rohit, Kohli, and KL Rahul will be rested for NZ series that will immediately follow T20 WC. So, the series against us will be their return to international cricket. I guess Dravid doesn't want to give a long lay off to his top players.

Shanto can be a good number 3 batsman in ODI. They need to hold many matches to get their combination right asap before ODI WC begins.

Mossadek Possadek dont work. Tried, tested, and failed. They need to figure out another hard hitting middle order batsman for ODI.

It's disturbing how Shakib flies off to USA after every series, and returns to Bangladesh only few days before each series. He needs to sort out his batting during down times he get, not something that can be done at Milwaukee.

Hopefully Shakib continues to fail and will either retire or get dropped from the BD national team.

Rumor is that Sriram made the mistake of confronting Sujon for leaking inside info to media. We may now go back to Domingo for the next series.

Thrashing coming up boys. Brace yourselves.
And, what the hell is Shujon still doing with the team? Why can't we get rid of him?

Joy horribly out of form. Groom Shanto as a Test opener as well?

The worst coach Bangladesh had was that Paika who made us lose to Canada on Eid day.

Looks like India's bowling is horribly out of form. Time for us to get them back on form

Our team has a habit to make everyone who is out of form come back to form when they play against us ... Lol

Shakib, Nurul, and Mustafiz will prepare for the one-day series by playing in Abu Dhabi T10 league. This is going beyond ridiculous...

BCB has very little power over Shakib and Mustafiz.
For Nurul, I am surprised that he got a team in a T10 league
