BC Kathgora (কাঠগড়া) 22th week- Nocturnal
Okay folks, as you can infer from the thread title, the purpose of this thread is to randomly put one BC member every week on the Kathgora so that other members can ask questions. Just like in any witness box in the courthouse the member being questioned should try to answer as truthfully as possible.
Rules for asking questions:
plz abide by forum rules
Responding to questions requires time and effort so each member should stick to one set of questions for every individual placed in the kathgora
So this week our beloved Zunaid bhai is on the Kathgora until next Thursday. So ask away!
ps my heartfelt love for all of you guys in advance, in case i get banned for putting Z bhai on the spot..

my questions to Z bhai:
i) How many countries have you visited and what is your favorite city?
ii) How many people did it take to create the BC website and are they all still regulars in this forum?
iii) If you had to choose between iPad and Surface for a work related trip which one would you choose?
iv) Abahoni naki Mohamedan?

Screw you.
1. Not too many - not like the likes of Sohel and others. I believe it stands at 19 right now.
2. I can only speak to the redesign after I joined the site and which you see currently. Mostly Mahmood, Nasif, and myself. I worked on the look and feel and the design and some of the back-end scripts AND gui widgets. Nasif and Mahmood worked mostly on the back-end, DB, and scripts. After we migrated to the Azure cloud - ALL of the site uptime and maintenance work is being handled by Nasif.
3. Neither really. For what I do, a tablet is totally useless. For work travel, I take my reasonably light but quite robust in performance laptop. I will take my iPad along too but that's mostly for entertainment.
4. Moshkora koro? Black and whites forever.

1. What is your bank account number?
2. What is your routing number?
3. What is your credit card number?
4. What is your pet's name?

In all seriousness:
1. Do you ever feel insecure?
2. Who inspires you?
3. What is your estimated IQ and EQ?
4. What is your biggest accomplishment?
1. Sometimes
2. Can't say anyone pops to mind immediately. I do not think I have consciously thought of or looked for someone as an inspiration. I suppose unconsciously many people will have inspired me.
3. IQ is a deprecated and is too simplistic a measure and does not correlate to eventual success. Yes,I have done IQ tests in my youth and have scored quite high - my GRE scores are probably a better indicator of mathematical and quantitative reasoning ability. Have never taken any EQ tests. I direct you to read up Harvard's Howard Gardner and his theory of multiple intelligences which has received much traction with cognitive psychologists and these days has has been adopted by many schools (aside: Gardner was my wife's advisor in graduate school).
4. Being a husband and a father.

If "not" then which one is older? If you had the chance to change your certificate age, how would you do it? [i'm not asking your age - this is an IQ test question]

1. Rare/medium-rare?
2. Salt/pepper or sauce too?
I think I know the answers, but humans change.

1. Yeah. We change. Used to be medium-rare but now I'm gravitating towards black and blue.
2. Sauce is blasphemy. I would add crushed garlic to salt and pepper though.

Dr. Z (although technically "Dr. K"),
1. When you started your first business, were you still employed by some other company or you had quit the job first?
2. If you happened to be employed, when did you decide to quit and what was the determining factor? Did you reach a certain monetary milestone or you just decided to go all in regardless?
3. How do you rate churrascaria (filet mignon especially) at places like Texas de Brazil or Fogo de Chao compared to that at Morton's, Chris Ruth's, or any other good steak houses?
4. In your expert opinion, how frequently can one have steak buffet without having to worry about cholesterol levels going through the roof?
5. When was the last time you tried to remember something very hard but failed?
5a. Until what age were you unable to erase anything from your memory even if you tried?

Zunaid bhai,
> if you were the BCB president, what would you do to take our cricket to the next level?
> if you were prime minister of Bangladesh, how you would motivate BAL and BNP to work together towards a common goal? what you would have done differently than Mujib/Hasina/Zia/Khaleda?
> have you ever thought to be a different person than what you are now?
> what would be your dream job?

as you can see everyone is asking one set of questions in a single post, I request you to take a hint unless you want me to edit the opening post and put it in writing

1. Quit.
2. Not as simple as that. No monetary milestones - I have been in start-ups in the past but needed family financial security before we (as in family) could go all in. Plus, we have a HS daughter and college fees are at the forefront of our thoughts. This was prompted by a number of fortuitous happenings not the least being a tremendous career opportunity for my wife that we could not say no to. In the past, she had been the trailing spouse. This opportunity allowed me the ability to support my wife in pursuance of her career which had been put in abeyance for my sake but also for me to take the next step that I had always been wanting to. It has not been easy. Several times in the past, my ship had sunk close to the shore. No danger of that yet. The ship has yet to sail the big blue - though it has made small forays into choppy sees.
3. Apples and oranges. Different flavor profiles. But full 5 stars to both.
4. One really should not at all.
5. This morning.
5a. Still cannot.
