Default Question on the Beard?

HI, I'm 15 years old, and have read somewhere that keeping the beard is compulsory... I grow a lot of facial hair, the same as an adult would (some bengali genetic thingy), and I'm wondering, should I stop shaving? (I dont think its the norm to have a beard in london anyway, let alone at 15, but as a muslim, Im willing).

AFAIF, keeping beard is NOT compulsory (Farz). Its Sunnat. You wont be punished hereafter for not having beard but its advisable to keep. and obviously, Allah knows the best.

You should also depilate your nether regions within every 40 days. Thats more important for you lest you get crabs.

Edit your post. The f word shouldnt be used. I know you mean cigarettes. But it has other hurtful meanings.

the beard is not a fard, yes. But it is a sunnah, and sunnat acts should be emulated. I myself usually have some sort of "beard" but its both a combination of personal wish as it is an expression of religiosity.

bottom line is do whatever ur gut tells you.

Well, what I found out was they don't like facial hair when it comes to kissing. I dont want to explain why they don't like hair in other places.

I am so jealous. I dont have any facial hair at all and I'm 18

@Banglaguy, it isnt Fardh but one you grow it, you have to be willing to keep it. I think that after it becomes a certain length, it is haraam to cut it.

You may even come across many obstacles and tests in your social life. But that all depends on your personality. If your socially awkward already, it might not be a good idea to keep a beard. Muslims already have a bad reputation in western countries like France, England, and USA so you have to have a strong mentality to overcome the harrassment you may face.

Am I being too negative?

Not negative, but a bit too wary. I'm set and decided after talking to my mum. ~I'm willing to keep a nice trimmed one.... And allah willed for me to grow such a beard, and allah, inshalllah, will do for you one day! One way to grow the beard is to have alot of foods with folic acidy food... You should google it

If he is to keep a beard I think the aspiration should be towards emulating the Mohammad Yusuf, Hashim Amla or the great old man of early cricket - Dr Grace.

Amen.
