Default Happy Valentines Day

I think the thread on V-day got deleted, so I dedicate this thread to all of you out there with a beating heart and elevated testosterone and estrogen.

Now I know majority of you here do not believe in V-day (because you all are cheap a$$es) but below are the things you should do nonetheless:

1) For married men: give your wife a red rose or a box of chocolate, because if you don't, someone else will

2) For married women, cook some good food - it's been ages.

3) For boys with gf: Don't let her out of your sight today. Be the romeo that you will never be and get whatever you can because come next year, she will be with that guy you hate the most.

4) For girls with bf: cook some good food - we wanna know that you can.

5) For single Guys: Look at your self in the mirror and say "hey sexy"! Give yourself a kiss and say "happy valentines, beautiful"... Keep telling yourself "I am too good for girls"

6) For single girls: Go read a book on cooking, maybe then you won't be single.

Happy Valentines day lovers... Now get the hell outta here!

Not to sound inappropriate, but her mom does look a lot better.

Just stating facts.

What is the Valentine's Day? Who was Valentine? What did he do for us that we celebrate him every year?

And why is it called "Valentine's Day"?

Man.... I could never find these answers....

Can anyone answer me these questions.. please....

Thanks.

This is what I got from wikipedia

Quote:
The Saint Valentine that appears in various martyrologies in connection with 14 February is described either as:

A priest in Rome
A bishop of Interamna (modern Terni)
A martyr in the Roman province of Africa

It's after someone called St. Valentines, who was killed by a group of people that used to worship satan. That's what I've heard.

I do think that there's two aspects to this celebration. Today, the celebration gets restricted to more of the commercial aspect of it...like buy a gift, flowers, or stuff for your significant other. But if it's something that you celebrate by praying or doing something spiritual, that I think is what's against the spirit of a different religion.

The same goes for Christmas and other Pujas. If you participate there to celebrate the "holiday" with your friends and relatives, you're not doing anything wrong I believe. But it's not the same thing as participating in their religious ceremonies!

Am I wrong in saying that?

You are absolutely right, Kabir bhai. They are attched with....externally. It is not attached in their heart. The problem lies here.

I am under the impression that orphy himself is a chatgaiya. He is just stating the obvious.
