The good news is Dave Whatmore, Habibul Bashar and the rest of the TIGERS won't be concerned about such things and scenarios. As professionals they have to concentrate on what is within their capability. They will be focusing on things such as how to deal with Pietersen, exploiting Sajid Mahmood and whether or not to bat first or second if they win the toss against England.
One game at a time. P.S. I hope Ireland beat South Africa as I sympathize with them being subjected to their presence in the super-8s questioned by the likes of Martin Gough, Agnew and others.

Exactly my feelings.
Our match against England is the most crucial one in current scenario.

To put it simply: Australia, NZ and SL are almost through. Therefore, it is in Bangladesh's interest if they keep on winning every match they play [ against each other it does not matter - unless we don't want Australia as No. 1 ]
As SA still have to play NZ, ENG and WI then, if they win against ENG and WI they are more or less through [ compared to Bangladesh on a better likely run rate ].
So, we want that between SA, ENG and WI , they each win once amongst themselves. Since all have already played Ireland whom we have not played yet.
The reason I was saying that we don't want Australia to finish top, is because No.1 plays No.4 in the semi final. [ Wishful thinking ? ]
Summary:
1.We want AUS, NZ and SL to win all remaining matches. Amongst themselves, it would be best if AUS loses.
2. We want SA, ENG and WI to win once amongst each other. Then if Bangladesh win all 3 , we are definitely through. With 6 points , we would still have a chance as only SA will have 6 points and one of ENG and WI [ assuming we beat Ireland ]. Hopefully, no one can pile up huge positive NRR's as they all will have played Ireland.

The only scenario I see is how many points we have now and the game against England. We win we would still be in contention we lose it is almost over and England's chances would get better. No reason to use brain cells so early in not related stuff.

Only one scenario...
We have to win the next three games...
what happens after that..(NRR) can be calculated later...
first we do our part...

imo,its simple equation for us to go to semis, and the equation is to win the next three matches.there is lots of ifs and buts if we win two of the three.

We should not write of Ireland as yet. Right now they are putting some serious pressure on NZ.

Great work, Tarikur. Clearly portrays where we stand in the World Cup with three games to go.

Why putting extra pressure on the team? The scenarios are really complex. The team shouldn't think about it now. I hope they will win the match against England. Then the calculations will be a bit simpler and the team will go for it.

I really don't care, unless we win against England.
But nevertheless, a splendid effort by tarikur.
