Reliable Internet access in rural BD
bhaiyos, bhaiyas, apus, and dadas,
I will be going to BD in August. Spending time in my family home rural BD, and I need access to reliable internet for my laptop. Need internet to stay on top of school work, side business, etc. so it's really imperative that it's reliable. Don't really care if I can stream videos, etc.
Last time I was in BD, I used hotspot, but the connection was really poor. Are there any other alternatives? if not, which company is the best for hotspot. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Firstly, great idea on the hotspot. Extremely economical. Phone internet is very cheap in Bd. I am sure you noticed that your last visit.
I have used GP(Grameen Phone) hotspot many times. It worked great! But of course it would be best to talk to someone from your village who surfs the net. GP generally has the most comprehensive coverage. But I know some regions have a strong Robi network. I would stick to either GP or Robi. The other carriers have too many complaints from their users. I know this having done some consumer research on them in the past.

Last time I used Robi and it had terrible network in my village. So I will go with GP this time around. The problem is that most people in the village use internet only on their phone and that too for FB. So I have no idea how well GP hotspot will work out.

Use phone based providers, they are much much better and faster. 3G is also relatively fast. I used GP while I was in the countrysides in Barisal.
