Wow! I didn't know there was a football section on Bangla Cricket lol. Yes good to see there is a Man Utd thread.

This season you will see us (Man Utd of course) being crowned champions for the 19th time and first club to win 4 in a row!

nah it wont happen...defence has cost us all season...its forced us to have a haphazard midfield, n the points dropped to the bluesh1tes on the weekend, might be the last nail in our coffin.

tomorrow night we have a West ham team in form coming in, ideally we should play out strongest XI, but rooney looked buggered on the weekend, and with the CC final on sunday to come...

I think our season is about to fall apart...

I am of course happy to be proven wrong.

I think we should win the Carling Cup on sunday. I'm sure the players will step up and perform in front of the large wembley crowd.

Man Utd 3 - 0 West Ham

Rooney took his run of goals to 19 in his last 19 matches in a fine display

Wayne Rooney took his goal tally to 27 for the season as Manchester United saw off West Ham to move to within a point of Premier League leaders Chelsea.

The in-form frontman opened the scoring with a firm header from Antonio Valencia's excellent volleyed cross.

And another Valencia cross was headed home by Rooney for the hosts' second, before substitute Michael Owen clipped a late third from Paul Scholes's pass.

Strong performance to bounce back from the defeat to Everton. We just keep winning and hope for a mistake from Chelsea.

Chelsea is being thrashed by City. 1-3, Tevez 2, with < 10 minutes to go and they picked up two red cards as well

We are back in business. My only worry is that the useless Arsenal (played 5, lost 5 against the other teams in the top-4) will also take advantage of this.

Carling Cup Final

Aston Villa 1 - 2 Man Utd

Rooney started on the bench but finished as the hero

Substitute Wayne Rooney scored the winner as Manchester United beat Aston Villa in the Carling Cup final.

Villa took the lead through James Milner's early penalty after Nemanja Vidic fouled Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Michael Owen sidefooted an equaliser when Dimitar Berbatov capitalised on a Richard Dunne mistake.

Ji-Sung Park hit the post but Rooney, who was later denied by the woodwork, proved the hero when he headed Antonio Valencia's cross into the top corner.

----

At least one of my teams has won!

Also, all hail WAYNE ROONEY - the White Pele.

Rooney may be out of the Milan game. That would be a big blow for us. It's good to see Beckham return to OT. Michael Owen is out for the season so it looks like we'll have Diouf and possibly Macheda on the bench. Welbeck is out on loan to Preston.

MANCHESTER UNITED beats AC Milan 4-0 (7-2 on aggregate). When people say this is the stuff of Champions, this is EXACTLY what it means.

Man Utd 4 - 0 AC Milan (agg 7 - 2)

Rooney's 13th-minute header set United on their way to a comfortable victory

Wayne Rooney scored twice in another irresistible display as Manchester United eased into the Champions League quarter-finals at AC Milan's expense.

Leading 3-2 from the first leg, Rooney eased United in front, heading in Gary Neville's cross, and then clipped his 30th goal this season from Nani's pass.

Ji-Sung Park and Darren Fletcher dinked in two more as United romped through.

Ronaldinho and Klass Jan Huntelaar went close with headers but even substitute David Beckham could not inspire Milan.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...pe/8558023.stm

-------

There is nothing more to say except this was a game to behold and I didn't think we even got off second gear. Wayne Rooney is unstoppable and he's stolen the headlines once more, but huge credits must also go to G. Neville for his sublime cross, fantastic play by Park and Valencia and great keeping by VDS to keep away what little Milan had to throw at him.

that was just outright embarrassing for Milan.... they sure is the Old men's club....

Rooney is undoubtedly the best striker/finisher of the season epl/la-liga/serie-a combined...
