Don't know why I typed that! Probably confused it with Chelsea's score in excitement. Arse and Loserpool deserve the position they are in this season. This is a perfect lesson for their arrogant fans who said Man Utd would be struggling for 5th place!

Man Utd capture Larsson on loan

Larsson will make his Premiership bow at 35

Manchester United will sign veteran striker Henrik Larsson on a three-month loan deal in January.

The 35-year-old former Celtic striker will leave current club Helsingborg on 1 January and will return on 12 March in time for the Swedish season.
Larsson said: "United have been after me before, after the first or second season with Celtic.
"It feels good to come and play for such a big club. I may not start every match, but it feels like a fun thing."

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is short of options up front, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer injured and Alan Smith still seeking full fitness.

This is a timely fix in the absense of Solskjaer and Smith, great move by Sir Alex. Larsson may be 35 but he's an experienced player who had an incredible career at Celtic. He knows he's essentially a temporary backup and wouldn't have made this move if he wasn't prepared to uphold his reputation. I wonder why Martin O'Neill or even Mourinho didn't think of it.

It was a good result. The way we came back, straight after Boro scored shows the hunger of this team. I'm confident we will win the Premiership this season.

Bring on Benfica, and the rest of Europe.

Arsenal helped Man Utd today. In fact Arsenal has an excellent record against big teams this season, beating Man Utd and Pool and drawing with Chelsea away.

This result was very crucial as now Chelsea cant come more than 5 points close to Man Utd even after winning their game in hand.

The gap between 1st and 2nd is looking very nice indeed

A bit off topic (actually its not, considering the goalie ), but who else saw Matthew Taylor's goal for Portsmouth on Saturday? Boy, that was some goal...

This is a dream result. Even though we are now at least 5 pts ahead, the title race is far from over. We gotta beat Chelsea away and extract some revenge from last season.

Why couldn't they wait one more week before appointing Alan Curbishley? Damn, I wished Alan Pardew was still the manager. Getting a new manager just gave the Hammers a lift. Oh well, we are still top, and its nice to see teams really competing well against Chelsea.

Bayern name price for Hargreaves
Bayern Munich will consider selling Owen Hargreaves to Manchester United - but not for less than £20m.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...pe/6234501.stm

That's a lot of money, but nonetheless he's a very hardworking player and once fully recovered he will greatly enhance United's midfield. I think this is a rare opportunity and Hargreaves is worth it. Anyone disagree?

Hargreaves is a great player. His performances in the World Cup showed that. But I'm not sure if United will be willing to pay £20m after spending so much on Carrick. However, I'm pretty sure there will be some negotiations going on this month to bring him to Old Trafford.

Looking forward to Larsson's debut today.

Larsson scores on his debut!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...up/6239557.stm

Sir Alex says he will make two signings during the transfer window, I'm hoping Hargreaves will be one of them. Perhaps United can trade a player and money together.

Larsson can stay at United until the end of the season, if he wants.
Man Utd's on-loan striker Henrik Larsson is told by his Swedish club he can stay at Old Trafford until the end of the season.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...td/6240091.stm

That's great, he seems to have blended with the team very quickly. If he continues to produce great performance as he did in his debut, I see no reason why he shouldn't extend his stay.

Thats good news. It would be great to have Larsson for longer. He was very impressive yesterday. I could see him easily becoming a fans' favourite.
