So, England joined Ireland, Zimbabwe, and UAE to taste BanglaWash in a T20I series!!!
It was simply ridiculous to see them playing with only four specialist batters + Moeen Ali. It could have been a very different story had they brought two more specialist batters, instead of having Sam Curran batting at #6.
Still kudos to Shakib and Co, whitewashing the world champs!!!
What's the verdict on the opening pair? I think Rony looked good against English pacers, including Archer. However, his discomfort against Adil Rashid was very apparent. When we play against Afghanistan, imo, it will be better to open with Liton-Shanto, and have Shakib or Hridoy at #3.
Afif has become a baggage for the team. He's clearly not a good fit at #6 or #7 when opposition have good spinners. Instead of keep carrying him in the team, team management should send him back to DPL, to work on his skills against spinners.

The way Shakib inspired the team after the ODI series loss (our strongest format), actually makes Tamim look bad. Shakib's mentorship of young and new comers in the team was very visible during the T20I series, something that Tamim was lacking during the ODI series.

No one is going to mention how shanto literally went from a zero to a hero? All the sh*t we dished out to him (including myself), yet he brushed it aside. Takes alot of guts.

I have been quite sceptical of Shanto and it seems this might be a turning point for him if he continues to be consistent. His fielding IMO has usually been decent.
Shakib from what I read on the net for this series has been a true captain mentoring the kids. Something that Mashrafee always used to do.

Shanto was always talented which is why he was persisted with. He still hasnt really broken the barrier yet with not so great strike rate overall. However, I do believe he can be a great number 3 in all of the formats.
