Riyad made 150
Taskin made 75

Rest of batting was poor. Newbies were poor as usual. Future looks bleak! I would rather have Rajin and Alok back rather than these newbies.

Is Abu Jayed injured? If not, then how can Ebadot get picked over Abu Jayed?

The top three are so useless! Liton should be promoted as a Test opener, handing over gloves to Nurul.

My batting line up for next Test (whenever that may be):

Tamim
Liton
Momin
Mushfiq
Shakib
Riyad
Nurul

Going with an extra batsman in expense of Rahi was a super defensive decision. I was expecting better from Domingo...

Ebadat's SR is now 140+. If he can't get us wickets even against Zimbabwe, he has no business to be in the Test team. I was hoping to see Shoriful in his place for this match.

What a mind boggling bowling attack lmao.

Not only did we go in with only 2 pacers we dropped our best seam/swing bowler, Jayed, for Ebadot? What is the reasoning behind this? Laughable really after how the last time we toured Zim it was Robiul who blew them away and showed how it was done and there was even a damn CI article reminding them. More so, we have a coach who was adamant on developing our pace attack and instead we go in with only 2 pacers more so than not and outside of the SC. Where else and which better opposition are we going to be able to give experience to our pacers than in Zim vs Zim who only have B.Taylor of note in their batting lineup smfh.

Also if they were going to go with another spinner might as well have picked Taijul as this is a team who can't play SLA, bar Taylor.

Lets see if they prove me wrong.

This coach seems to be garbage.
He has the Jamies Siddons idea of Let's take all new players.

Liton will never see a run opening in a test match......

In last five years, in overseas conditions, Soumya is pretty much the only other respectable top order batsman we have seen besides Tamim.

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...s;type=batting

His average of 38.6 overseas was not because of one innings wonder like that of Shanto, but because of 4 fifties out of 10 innings. With Tamim as injury risk, and with a pipeline that's void of any real talent, sensible choice for the selectors would have been to put their trusts on experience and talents of Soumya-Liton as the opening duo for this tour.

Domingo is a fool. Riyad at 8 is so defensive and sums up Domingo as a coach.

If Taskin hadn't managed to survive, it would have been all over for Riyad.
Here's to the future people : Back to playing against Zimbos!

Shanto deserves at least as many chances as Soumya, Liton, Sabbir, and Mithun. Shanto also got SOME runs in Rawalpindi against a very decent pace attack of Shaheen, Abbas, and Naseem. A pair of 40s in and of itself is not impressive, but with the daddy hundred in Sri Lanka makes it look better IMO.

Remember at one time we thought Mominul was clueless away, but he's starting to find his groove. His 70 in this game was a tough little knock...greentop with pace and bounce from Muzarabani and Ngarava.

Shanto seems talented, but way too shaky in the beginning of his innings. Hope getting two centuries in his last three innings will give him some confidence. I would still put him somewhere in the middle order, not at #3.

You didn't bother watching any part of this match, have you? Forget about green top, this wicket does not even look brown.

What lesson that would be? He came to bat on a flat wicket, from the second session of the match. From that point on Zimbabwe attack was so ineffective, even Taskin managed to bat for a session and a half.

I was happy to see him back in the Test team, with Shakib being so poor with bat after the ban, it was good to have an experienced batsman come after him. But if this loser thinks a century against Zimbabwe on a flat track is all he needed to prove he's a Test class player, we are better off without him.

Good to see Shanto and Shadman with a century apiece.

Congratulations Bangladesh - struggle at times but good overall performance away from home. I wish we played at least 2 Tests, if not 3 to maintain the consistencies.

Every test series should be made a farewell for one of the senior cricketers from now on. Light a fire under them, extract a good innings, and bid them goodbye.

How is Shujon still involved with the team btw? I thought he would be accused of taking bribes or overdosed for the 2nd time by now.

Well done BD. Taskin seems to have found his rythm again.

Shujon is a cancer who is now a MP too. Political people can't be thrown out.

Sujon has resigned as the team lead last month, as Domingo has not been allowing him to butt into team strategic discussions.

Shingara bhai, when did Sujon become MP?!

I read it months ago, or was that just a nomination?

^^Maybe you're confusing him with Durjoy?

One thing Sujon proudly mentioned during his resignation as Bangladesh team staff lead is how he's still dedicated to cricket while others have taken up side hustles (business incase of Akram, politics incase of Durjoy).

It was a Greentop and the first session had pace, bounce, lots of seam movement, and maybe some swing as well. It flattened out after lunch but by that time Mominul was well set.
