You're obviously not a United fan if you keep referring to Ronaldo as the 'Lisbon Diver'.

As for your comments on Tevez, he's a hardworking player but he would be much more effective with Rooney or Saha by side, and Ronaldo and Giggs/Nani providing width. That would given United the agressive start they made last season. Alas, everything doesn't always work out as you expect.

On Tevez, I agree with you completely, and thought I made that quite clear in my post responding to Beamer's. He has always needed a partner to shine since his U-19 years with the DIving Gauchos (Saviola) and the Brazilian League (Alex) - and in Saha and Rooney, he has two of the best.

Sohel..Ryan Babel will be a great player one day. He is very young . The Dutch continue to amaze me with fresh new talents churning every year despite being such a small nation ( sure..Surinam helps ). Their Under-19 ( or is it under 21 ? ) team just won the WC. They have Babel, Snejider, Drenthe - all future stars to go with already young stars like Van Persie, Robben, Van der Vart etc..I agree on Kuyt. He just runs..

Tevez, I suspect is not 100% and looks a bit fatigued to me. He played in the Copa as well. Plus, it will take a few games to get adjusted to new teammates and style. But, when he does that, watch out!

Sorry, but you're acting like a wind-up merchant. There was no penalty. If you don't watch the show where they analyse these things then you have no idea what really happened other than reading stuff off the internet. The ball hit him between his chest and shoulder. If you can provide some statistics/evidence of Man United getting more decisions in their favour, then I will listen to what you have to say.

Voronin maybe the partner Torres needs to deliver the goods. ManU did themselves no favors by not getting Torres. He could've out Rudd-ed Rudd. Classis CF perfect for the EPL.

Yes. Man U should have pursued Torres. I was high on him since last years WC. He has pace, strength and quality. However, I don't believe him and Rooney can play in the same position together with CR in the mix. Who knows?

I think we should make a serious bid for Huntelaar, another Dutch wonder. Torres would have been great, but I think Tevez will be good value for money once he settles down. We just need a solid finisher. I hope SAF realises that.

Man Utd 1-0 Sunderland

Sunderland's Ross Wallace gets close to debutant Anderson

Substitute Louis Saha scored the winner as Manchester United edged out Roy Keane's Sunderland side.

Saha headed in at the near post from Nani's corner with 18 minutes to go after former United favourite Keane's side had frustrated the champions.

Black Cats keeper Craig Gordon had earlier brilliantly denied Saha while Nemanja Vidic volleyed over.

Sunderland rarely looked like getting on the scoresheet and Owen Hargreaves was close to adding a second.

United were still some way from their fluent best and Keane, who was given a rapturous reception from the home fans on his first appearance at Old Trafford as a manager, will be disappointed with the way the game was decided.

It was a poor goal, with Saha allowed a free header and Gordon blotting his otherwise impressive copybook by coming for the cross and getting nothing but fresh air.

Until then Sunderland had limited the home side to only a handful of attempts in goal, with their 4-5-1 formation proving a tough barrier to break down.

Saha almost scored twice coming from injury. That tells you what a quality striker he is, and could be if only he wasn't plagued by injuries. United still struggling to find their rhythm, but there is good news that Rooney could make an early return. Hopefully normal service will be resumed soon.

Sachin Tendulkar has been appointed ambassador for the Manchester United Opus in India and the publishers are planning a similar epic about the Indian batting great.

Tendulkar, who was the guest of honour at the Premier League match between Manchester United and Sunderland, has been named Indian ambassador for the voluminous hardback epic about the club -- and he revealed that the publishers, Kraken, are planning a similar book on Tendulkar.

"This started little more than a year ago," Tendulkar was quoted as saying by a Press Association report.

"They're really doing their homework. It's wonderful to be part of this and I'm looking forward to it," said Tendulkar who watched Alex Ferguson's team beat Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Wayne Rooney has been out since breaking his foot

Wayne Rooney returns to Manchester United's squad to face former club Everton at Goodison Park after recovering from a broken foot.

The 21-year-old England striker has been out since sustaining the injury in the opening day draw against Reading.

Boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Rooney has trained very well and will travel.

"But whether I start him, put him on the bench or leave him out until Wednesday night, that's something I have to decide."

He added: "He is desperate to play but we will take medical advice from the doctor."

Nemanja Vidic celebrates his winner for Man Utd with Rio Ferdinand

Nemanja Vidic's late header gave Manchester United victory in a tight encounter with Everton.

The home side and United were closely matched until Vidic arrived at the near post to power home Nani's corner after 83 minutes to seal a crucial win.

Paul Scholes had earlier wasted United's best opportunity, volleying over from 10 yards.

But he rescued United just after half-time when he scrambled Andrew Johnson's header off the line.

Manchester United added to Chelsea woes by beating their rivals in Avram Grant's first game in charge of the Blues after Jose Mourinho's exit.

Chelsea put in a resolute showing but had Mikel Jon Obi harshly sent-off for a tackle on Patrice Evra on 32 minutes.

United controversially went ahead after first-half injury-time had elapsed with a near post Carlos Tevez header.

Chelsea stubbornly kept the deficit to one goal until Louis Saha's spot-kick after a foul on him by Tal Ben Haim.

Yeh thast very true but they missed two gud opportunites the first one with Perotta hu mistimed his shot with his weaker left foot and Espositos chance which was much more easier to finish.
