Bangladesh invited England on a greenish wicket after winning the toss and made early breakthrough by removing opener Kieswetter for a duck. However, England bounced back through a record 250 run 2nd wicket partnership between skipper Andrew Strauss and Jonathan Trott. A late surge by Ravi Bopara lifted England to 347 for 7 in 50 overs which proved too much for Bangladesh as they could only muster 203 runs in 45 overs.
