Gazi, right now is in the wild. He should make the most of opportunities that he faces,

Can't even turn the ball, he needs to be discarded.

JP Duminy turned the ball further than he did and he's supposed to be a part-timer.

I dont like discarding players especially if they are still under 25. But this case, Gazi sure has to be discarded - fully signed. As he has nothing good left to offer BD cricket; cant spin the ball on turning wicket, cant bowl good lines, has a belly like a sumo. He seems to have been long gone with the new action change, and with the early career success.

He falls into the category of our past players who used to get easily satisfied/happy with 30s or few decent match performances once a long while and acted as if they have made it all. But that mentality has changed, and younger players are waiting, and eager to please and are more determined .

Gazi looks like indeed a c grade player. Not International standard.

Still scratching my head from this selection. First gets called up in the squad after doing jack at domestic level, then gets selected in the playing XI, lol.

Our ODI selection is good. Test and T20 selections are just random and awkward.

There were rumours long ago about some players being unfit and unwilling to workout. Many people(including me) assumed Gazi was one of them and after seeing his belly, I'm sure he was.

Pathetic selection. He should be dropped and Jubair should be brought in.

Not sure what logic was used for his selection that he came back where he was in his first year of inauguration. Even Mamadullah can better turn the ball and he is suppose to be the strike bowler

As i have told before i don't see any future of gazi in international arena.
anyway, but i wouldn't pick jubair for t20. He is no way ready for this. First make sure he gets to play regularly in domestics. But yeah,if he is taken care properly i can see him become our leading spinner in all format.

I feel sad for him
He made such a brilliant start to his carreer and now we are questioning his place in the team.

I agree with Simon bhai.

I believe he(Gazi) is going through a tough time but what we are not happy about is the professionalism. I just looked at his belly and wondered what just happened?

But hey, Gazi bowled just 2 overs and didn't bowl too bad. Why blame him? And didn't do much with the bat? What did the sarkars and Iqbals do?

With his new action it will be really difficult for him to flight the ball with any control and hence wont get any significant turn.

The sarkars and iqbals have done well in recent past so shouldn't be compared to likes of gazi

i have held back my opinion of gazi for a while hoping he would come good. I still hope he does just like any other bd cricketer. But his bowling is just meh. Plodder with the ball. I see nothing with his bowling. I never saw anything with his bowling to begin with. Never really understood by bc members wanted him so badly in the team other than he is an offie. We have Nasir for that now so just forget about Gazi. Neither can he tie or choke the batsmen down like Razzak/Arafat did nor can he take wickets through outsmarting the batsmen nor can he at least get the ball to spin nor can he even flight the ball. He offers nothing, zero, zilch with the ball. His batting is decent but still thats not a good enough reason to be in the national team. He has a loooooong way to go.

On top of that he has clearly gained weight and looks in no shape to play international cricket. He has been known to skip/bludge training and has poor work ethics in the team. Now tell me why do we need such player in the national team? We have moved on from the Aftab Ahmed era lets please try and stay that way. And besides we can just get Riyad to start bowling his offies again cos Riyad was a good partnership breaker and could tie the batsmen down. No need for Gazi whatsoever. I've never eaten humble pie regarding anyone ever and it definitely wont start with Sohag Gazi.

He is getting a lot of heat at the moment. But it was a T20 match. Gazi made his name first as a test bowler and then as a ODI bowler. T20 is his worst format probably, as it is with many players. I need to see him in an ODI before I can pass judgment on his place in the team.

But of course there is a grave worry if his change of action has somehow limited him as a spin bowler.

Its obvious and easier to say this now, but I always felt Gazi is overrated. He was never a sharp turner of the ball. It was his doosra that made us interested but now with strong chucking rule implementation means he cannot that ball again. So he will be a lesser bowler from what we have thought and that might not be enough to get into natl team.
