Easy: stay away from west.

If you can't, then know this:
Abusing rights, injustice, stealing, bribing, corruption, failure of basic human values are bigger issues. Establish rule of law and equality first. Prosperity will follow.

Individual is responsible for his/her own destiny. No need to force someone. Educate and give the message, rest is their choice. Alchoholics, the porno watchers, the fornicators - that's their own choice. Don't judge, and follow your best path.

Rest will fall in place.

It'd be best if they got themselves a private remote island somewhere in the Pacific.

@maysun nope tsunamy...bhoyonkore bhai bhoyonkor

@Zunaid dada....they are free to do or live where ever they want...Non-muslims share or not share many values with islam but that does not prohibit by islamic sharia law to stop what they are doing if not harming anybody or anything...for example...In the time of Prophet Muhammad (S) some arabs who lived in desert (Nomads) used to marry their mother after their father died...now I don't know if that is their own mother or step-mom...and as far I know they were allowed to do that as long they paid taxes that protects them by the state...I think it is called jizjia...

Unfortunately that will fall apart without justice and equality. You can see example of this world over. Most corrupt, most unjust and most unrighteousness states are the ones who call themselves Muslim countries. sad, but that's the fact.

People worry about eating halal while they can't spare a dime for the begger at the intersection. We daily fail to be a human and yet try to be "religious". One needs to stop a life of contradictions, and face the truth.

You will hear many saying western society is making our kids bad. My answer is if that's true and you believe it, then please save your kids and go back to east! In reality no one does that. Life in contradiction.

If you think those ills are in the West alone, you will be surprised at how much fitna exists in Muslim countries, Saudi Arabia included

I was similarly naive when i thought Muslim countries were great as they have good people with Iman who enforce good and forbid evil.

Muslim countries have everything from **** to alcohol, to fornication (a lot of the same sex type in places like SA).
Add to that other unislamic activities like racism, ill treatment of poor people, and you find places which are worst than the West in many ways.

Yea I know...what I feel sometime I feel so unsecured and I try to flee, mentally at least. People try to get something high career in general but sometime I feel wouldnt it be nice to be a farmer taking care of cattles crops having cats away from all the stress and on top of that the worlds are colliding giving the threat us the general people of destroy us. The news that we get makes me sensitive in many ways...what can u do!!!???

Actually some of them do: not just Muslims, but indian non Muslims as well who think kids will grow up with achhi sanskar in India.
Then they find out that children are as "fast" in any metro in India as they are in the West, and same goes for Muslim countries.

Parents who think their children will be exposed to bad things in the West but not in the East, are making one crucial mistake: they are comparing India or Bangladesh 25 years back (when they were growing up) with the US or Canada today.

If they did a proper comparison of both places in the same time period, they would notice not much difference: sure enough there will be superficial difference where western kids are a bit more independent, and a bit less street smart

However in terms of access to "ills" and availing those accesses, there is precious little difference.

Kothay achhe- "Apni bhalo to jogot bhaalo"
...
I had the privilege of living both abroad and here in Bangladesh. And to be honest, Bangladesh, specifically Dhaka, is no different now-a-days. Sheesha lounges, easy access to mobile internet, cyber crimes etc. make life in Bangladesh almost as corrupt in terms of culture as the Western world. Same is the case in most of the Islamic countries as well. So, you've got to live within these. If your Imaan is strong enough, these corrupt cultures won't be able to affect you.

In the late 80s, while teaching at BUET, we received some fairly large survey data to process. The survey was on Aids awareness and included many questions on sexual habits. If I recall correctly over 20% of youths had some form of premarital sexual intercourse. This was independent of religious affiliation or or location. The numbers were pretty consistent across the board. An interesting data point - a significantly large plurality identified cousins and other relatives as their first sexual partner. I do not remember the numbers for extramarital sex - but even that was (to my then naive self) an unusually high number.

As for drug use and other "evil' vices - from my personal experiences, I'm not sure there is less of that in Bangladesh than say in the US - perhaps more (except for alcohol and that has purely to so more with cost and availability than any religious taboo).

Isn't sleeping with cousin detrimental as far as genetics is concerned? I may be wrong; excuse my laziness.

Much greater risk of genetic disorders, especially amongst first cousins. Might explain why all the royal families are so f-ed up

Not to mention, forcing your kids to call you, uncle-daddy...NOT COOL

As long as you are not conceiving...

You are correct - that is why most societies consider incest and marriage to first cousins taboo.

Because of shared genes (8% between first cousins), there is a high likelihood of recessive genetic disorders showing up.

I hope some researcher makes the effort to find out the prevalence of such disorders among the Sylheti population in Bangladesh. I'd be curious to know the findings. (I only say Sylheti because they are known to have a high prevalence of cousin marriages for an identifiable regional population).

Subjectively speaking, I'd guess even alcohol will have a high number of respondents saying "had it/tried it" across Bangladesh (perhaps with males being more predominant than females) despite the restrictions within Bangladesh. Smirnoff and Teachers whiskey has made its way to the para'r chhelera of my gramer bari!

Thanks doc. Now if only that could be cross-referenced with a study of Bangladesh resident Sylhetis.
