The Visit/Response Thread
The total number of posts or views in relation to a given thread is there for everyone to see. Percentage of posts in relation to the number of views not so.
So how do we rate the overall popularity of a thread? By postcount alone? By the number of viewers? The percentage of the viewers who bother to post? I'm listing the top 3 in 3 of the most popular sections here in BC, visible on page 1 of each section. Matchthreads and stickies not included. I. Bangladesh Cricket 1. The Shakib Al Hasan Thread: Posts-5994; Visits-282,175; Percentage-2.12% 2. The Mohammed Ashraful Thread: Posts-3670; Visits-169.418; Percentage-2.17% 3. The Tamim Iqbal Khan Thread: Posts-3152; Visits-140,676; Percentage-.2.24% II. Other Sports 1. Manchester United: Posts-824; Visits-34,932; Percentage-2.36% 2. The Official everything about Bangladesh Football: Posts-437; Visits-15,912; Percentage-2.74% 3. Following Siddiqur Rahman: Bangladesh's golfing star: Posts-264; Visits-15,090; Percentage-1.75% III. Some threads, because of the manic dedication of a handful of posters have very high percentage of posts. For example the NHL season thread : 2011-12:-
1. Views (pretty much the same 10 guys)- 4096 2. Posts (pretty much the same 4 guys, one guy in particular)- 197 3. Percentage- 4.81% Not bad for a seasonal thread. A special event thread also offers interesting numbers. For example the Euro 2012: Match Thread (Group Stage, Quarters, Semis, Final):- 1. Views- 6680 2. Posts- 586 3. Percentage- 8.77%
