we talk about Nasir & Sabbir but my word Soumya has to be the 3rd best fielder in the team if not 4th.

Soumya is a tremendous talent. Elegant and fluent. He has setbacks, too. Needs to work hard and be mentally tough.

One of the best BD fielders: Sabbir, Nasir and Soumya. We couldn't be more fortunate than having this trio. Batters-fielders-bowlers. The future is Green and Red.

stick with him. let him give few more series in a row. he has aggressive nature in ODIs, something that is not present in shamsur/anamul/kayes etc. his aggressiveness also helps tamim to set himself in.

plus a terrific fielder. he should bowl few overs here and there as well.

Brilliant fielder. That slip catch today was made to look so effortless and classy.

Really want him to come good with the batting. He just needs to spend time in the middle and get the belief. Talent is there for everyone to see.

As long as we win, he still can be there unless he does really badly, He need to come good soon.

Talented batsman and useful bowler, his fielding is a asset but he's there as a batsman first, has some stiff competition with liton I reckon.

Not every young player can come with a bang. In top of that, before he could settle down at #3, we are switching him to opener couple of times already ( once in WC and now in this series) to to address team needs.

Its one thing to wait on one player before giving him chance, its another thing to bring a young player and then throwing at him different roles and then drop him from the team. That's how we screw a young player.

Now that the team is winning, we can afford to stick with him longer. Hopefully by that time he will show some sign of improvement as the opener.

Think about the possibility with the "old Tamim" back and a young player like SS opening the innings...we can expect 70+ run in first PP more often... even with SS's 17 we ended up 83/1 in 10 overs. That makes the rest of the players life so easy... with that kind of platform (even 1 ro 2 wicket down), our middle order can always target a total of 300+ something. And like a ripple effect, our bowlers job suddenly becomes easy.

Like it or not... we need to stick with SS a little bit longer to let him grow.

This batting order is slowly becoming strong and explosive.

Soumya should have been opener from the beginning and not at 3, they're finally trying riyad at 3, they could have moved riyad or mushy to 3 before soumya came I. Or when he did. Soumya is an opener anyway so that probably would have helped him with his co fort levels. Instead they put him at 3 a spot he wasn't very used to and they've moving him to opener.

I'm not going to argue with the team set up though because this is how it should be, it allows both sabbir and nasir into the XI and both should be there, plus it lets shakib, mushy and riyad play who again should be there, tamim has now reinforced his position so there is only one open spot for a batsman and thats 2nd opener.

Not going to argue that it's rough on soumya, but then really if we were looking for another opener it should of been liton and that's roug on him, this is professional sport, every player goings through rough or unfair times. In a team sport the team must come first.

another JS? Big question. He should be in the team at least for next 3 series, then decide whether he should be in the team or not.

Leave the kid alone. People were questioning Shabbir's inclusion not too long ago saying he hasnt done enough.. but here he is performing because the talent is obvious. Soumia will as well.

^^^ EWWW

But seriously: AMAZINGLY classy century from Soumya. .

But he still has to fix his tendency of chasing the good bouncers outside off stump from the pacers. At least get your body in line with the ball, dude!

Well done son.

Loving the competition
SS, Bijoy and Liton fighting for one spot.

I hope it will be like this for at least 5 more years...

there is no competition. SS should open now. His initial aggression helps Tamim on the other end as well. Anamul is too slow in the beginning.

Anamuls technique is not good enough...YET. Wouldn't be surprised if Littons technique is better aswell.

Drop this selfish person, didn't let Rahim get a 50
jkz

What I love about him is even with poor feet movement like Anamul, he doesn't waste deliveries for his runs and didn't go into a shell while in the 90s unlike the latter.
