yeah good post, if his contract allows him to do so then it's more the fault of those who wrote up the contract than the one who signed it.

He's made us all proud and inshallah he will continue to florish.
Although his new style of cricket is something that will bring him success with bigger innings, i still miss those brutual short onslaughts that made the bowlers pee in their pants.

Good to see Tamim has not lost touch with reality -

On a serious note. When I went to watch a practice match @ rural wormsley before T20 WC I saw a bit of batting practice by Raqibul, it was Salahuddin who was using the bowling machine and instructing Raqibul how to play the shots. So he does help a lot in other department. It will be big loss if BCB let him go just because we under performed in circus cricket.

Is there any thread about our fielding coach "Salauddin" ?? wanna know a bit more about this man. he is really contributing a lot behind the curtain

Such a lively interview! Just loved it. Enjoyed it like I've never before reading an interview. He is a free flamboyant type person just as he like to bat.

Tamim is and will be BD's best opener for a long time. I feel that BD should stick with Junaid and Tamim as openers.
Compared to 2 years ago, Tamim is a better rounded batsman, knows how to leave good balls, shows a bit more respect to bowlers, but punishes the bad balls. With this new found patience and determination, he will score more runs.
Some fans here cannot ever forget his marauding 50 against India, but look at his classy strokes now.

i agree - the Tamim-Junaid partnership seems to be working well for us and we should def. consider keeping it for the time being at the very least.

Ya. I think that Tamim really knows how to bat in the opening slot nicely nowadays. He has a good mix of patience and aggressivness that is needed to keep your wicket but still score at a pretty good SR. And remember, he can only get better as time goes on so lets wait and see. I also think that the Tamim and Zunaid SIddiquee should stay together in the opening slot as Siddiquee is also steadily improving.

So his inspiration is Mike Hussey and not Hayden. Good choice!

actually he has some dazzling stroked in that match. i watched the entire match live, and all i remembered where his [ugly] but highly entertaining and effective slogs and down-the-track-slaps for sixes and fours all around the part. yet he still had some eye catching strokes. that backfoot drive to the backward point boundary off a 138 km/h back of a length delivery from zaheer khan, was simply class. and it was amazing to see a 17 year old do it. his cockiness is also key. he will be BD's best every opener, and possibly our best every batsman should he attain patience. 40+ averages are not beyond his ability.

for that drive, see video clip in post #43, at 2:57...one of the best looking shots i've ever seen from a BD batsmen.

Moreover, he's read his book. He's a reader, like Aminul Islam, but with greater shooper powers. Good signs.
