I am just being too cautious and take one at a time...what's wrong thinking like that way...I want to see if Ash does the same next match then I can say that's a real sign of improvement of consistency for Ash

In as much as I would like Ash to score another century, it may take another year for an Eid innings. Let us hope that he is consistent for a while.

Next game wont be easy for BD, Zimbo will sensible cricket and score around 250. BD should target 280+ runs anyway. Zimbo players may have rusty fitness, if they bowl first their bowling wont be that poor as they did in last game.

That's a bad blow to the team. But the team management should not hurry and should give him proper rest.

tats & trivia
* During his unbeaten century on Sunday, Mohammad Ashraful became the first Bangladesh batsman to make 3000 ODI runs
* The difference between Junaid Siddique's Twenty20 strike-rate (159.5) and his one-day strike-rate (55.50) is 104.
* Brendan Taylor needs 51 more to reach 2000 ODI runs, and 87 to overtake Tatenda Taibu as Zimbabwe's leading run-getter among active players.

Is Taylor playing in the second ODI, According to cricinfo, he did not play as he has some issues with the board. He is a very good batsman, I am surprised that Chigumbura did not click, he is a super hitter.
If the boys bat first first, they should amass more than 250 runs, if chasing, restrict ZIM to less than 225 runs, might be tough if a few of the Zim batsmen click e.g. Vermulien, Taylor and Chigumbura.

i hope they play their best side...and we crush them again.
ZIM should organize a 5 match series with some other team before they tour us so that taibu can complete his 10 match ban. otherwise we'll miss him for the home series as well.

OFF topic; Has any bangladeshi pacer in history even been able to consistently bowl 90 mph +?
If not i think this is one aspect of the game we are missing really badly.

The defeat on Sunday has caused Zimbabwe to slip to 11th position in the ICC ODI rankings, two points behind Ireland.
Poor Zimbabawe, gone down to numb 11 to Ireland. They will need to organise a series against the Irish to re-establish their commands.

Tigers unchanged
TigerCricket.com Report
10-August-2009
Bangladesh have kept faith in the same eleven that crushed Zimbabwe in the first match of the Grameenphone Cup series for tomorrow’s second ODI at Bulawayo’s Queens Sports Club. The Tigers chased down the target of 208 with eight wickets and 15.3 overs to spare with Mohammad Ashraful hitting a majestic unbeaten 103.
“As I am no longer the captain therefore I have got to perform with the bat if I want to keep my place in the side. I did struggle in the Test series in the West Indies but got some runs in the ODIs. This innings would further boost my confidence,” said Ashraful who also acknowledged the support from the team.
“My teammates, management, coaching staff…everyone backed me and encouraged me when I was not among the runs. They kept telling me that I would be rewarded for my hard work soon. I am really thankful to them,” said Ashraful who became the first Bangladeshi batsman to reach 3000 ODI runs during the course of his innings.
The Tigers trained for nearly three hours at the Queens Sports Club today.
Tomorrow’s match starts at 2:30pm Bangladesh Standard Time. TEN Sports and Bangladesh Television are going to telecast the game live.
