To list the 100 stands in local fc cricket is not really worth the effort.

Current test record for each wicket can be found at http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Arch...tnerships.html

With that have we have most of the standard stats for Bangladesh first class cricket.

Any suggestions for more additions ? Mind you, I am doing this manually and there is a limit to what can be done

Next, can someone take care of updating this once the first class season begins. I won't be too active once I go home in a month or so.

Tintin, there's not many words arround to really appreciate your work. So, the plain old Thank You.

By any chance, if you have time, could you please write a stat and performance based article for the front page about the 20 players for us to see "at a glance"?

Bits and pieces :

Round 1 :

Akram Khan completed 2000 career runs with his 38 for Chittagong v Rajshahi
division. He is the third Bangaldeshi Bashar and Omar to reach there.
At the end of the match Akram has exactly 2000 runs in 40 matches at 29.85.
Bashar took 34 matches and Omar took 41 matches to complete 2000.

Faizal Hossain scored 99* for Chittagong v Rajshahi. This is the second
ever 99, and the first notout; Naimur Rahman being the first.

Yasin Arafat took 7/62 and 2/87 on debut. 7/62 is the best bowling on
debut bettering Hasibul Hossain's 6/143 in Bangladesh's first ever fc match
in 1997/8

Abdur Razzaq's 7/11 for Khulna v Sylhet is the third best bowling for an innings.

Mohammad Rafique had completed his 100 fc wickets in the final test against
England. He was second after Enamul Haque to do so. He now has 105 wickets.

From Round 2 :

Al Sahariar was out handled the ball, probably the first such incident in Bangladesh fcc. Cricinfo merely says this : "When play resumed, things got worse as Mohammad Al-Sahariar (35) was dismissed in a freaky manner. He was adjudged to have handled the ball after he completely missed a delivery from Yasin Arafat, the offspinner."

Habibul Bashar completed 3000 first class runs when he reached 6 in his innings of 28 for Khulna v Barisal. This was his 47th first class match.

Minhajul Abedin scored 2 & 10 for Chittagong is well on the way down. He now has a career average of 52.06, still the best by a Bangladeshi. But in Feb 2002,
his average was 65.41

Yasin Arafat took 7 wickets for Chittagong to take his career aggregate to 16 in two matches.

Sylhet won after getting out for 102 in the first innings. This is the lowest innings score made by a winning team. The margin of 13 runs might be the smallest, not sure.

Tapash Baisya finally completed 50 wickets in the 27th match of his career.

Bangladesh A v DHA

Bidyut batted for 469 minutes, faced 352 balls and hit 36 fours. The 36 fours is the most hit in an innings bettering 28 by Bashar and Imran Farhat.

78 extras conceded by DHA is easily a record in matches involving Bangladesh teams.

Hossain scored 176 in a day which is an improvement upon Ashraful's 157. Imran Farhat, though, scored 195* in a day while playing for Biman in 2000-01.

Bidyut has now scored 664 runs in first class matches with three hundreds and no fifties. Infact he has never been dismissed between 28 and 133, though he has a 121*. His last four innings preceding the 218 were 0, 1*, 1 and 6

Thanks, say. It is such comments that makes the effort worth it

Maybe we should try and get the real Aslam over here, since he is a Bangladeshi. Dr.Z, do you know him personally, by any chance ?
