I would love a playoffs system. But Big-10 (losers) and Pac-10 (cheaters) commissioners are the only barrier for the playoffs system. They say Rose bowl importance would go down and that is something they can not afford. What bull crap analogy!!
Anyways, Speed again won over size this year. No matter how many misdirection plays and formation The Ohio State (Jim Tressel) drew up there was a lineman there to greet the Ball carrier or Wide receiver.
SEC is the best conference no doubt top to bottom.
East:
South Carolina (Spurier -
National title)
Georgia (Mark R - May get a shot next year)
Florida (Urban Meyer -
National title)
Tennessee (Phillip Fulmer -
National title)
Kentucky (8-5 season)
Vandy (they compete. Won against So Car and lost closely to Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky)
West:
LSU (Les Miles -
National Title)
Alabama (Nick Saban -
National Title)
Auburn (Undefeated season few years back, top 15 team each year)
Arkansas (10-2, 8-4 last two seasons, here comes Bobby Petrino)
Mississippi State (8-5 season, "You got croom'ed" would be more and more repetative)
Ole Miss (well now Houston Dale Nutt is there, in two years it will no longer be gimme)
No conference can say they have this much of depth with national champion coaches coaching.
There are total of 11 active head coaches with National titles who are coaching in College Football. 5 of them belong to SEC.
