I think he should lead the team instead to Mortaza. Great captaincy, the best fitted for the job. Doesn't get nerveous and bowled his heart out, whadddda playa.

I guess Mortaza is out for the second test, will be ncie to see Shakib leading again. Does anyone know who will be the vice captain when Shakib will lead? Mush will be good

i would rate him as an expert captain(personally). I regard him very highly and when cricket experts claims comments such as "he is the world's current best finger spinner" they speak Truth.

Versatillity is one of his biggest assets and form of weaponry.

When the vc leads the team there is no vc named. I am sure Mushi will be in a leadership position while fielding.

Anywho, congrats to Shakib. Lead us to the promise land.

He has indeed proven that he is very different from the rest of the crowd. Great captaincy, and every time I was thinking the captain should now do this or that, he did. Perfect changes in bowling with what lies in his current arsenal.

Yes, his captaincy was up to the mark.

I liked the way he handled Riyad. After getting 3 wickets, other captains may have continued Riyad for the rest of the day. But Sakib did not. Riyad is not a specialist bowler who has the practice of bowling huge spells. So, he rested Riyad in between, that made Riyad's spinning fingers come to full force and had the best out of Riyad. That was a good one for me.

... The Windies batsmen exposed their vulnerability to quality spin in the process, and the desirable inclusion of Enamul Haque for Bangladesh in the next test match would add to that vulnerability. Haque, a young man with several points to prove, will put his gracious hosts at the wrong end of a series sweep. Not a good prognosis for West Indian cricket, but a great one for its unheralded guests from Bangladesh, especially under the leadership of their accidental new Skipper.

Shakib Al Hasan had his baptism by fire after Captain and pace spearhead Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was sidelined nursing an alarming injury. Assisted by Mohammad Ashraful, the former skipper, during the initially difficult moments, he found his depth quickly, and generated the sort of unit cohesion needed to bowl West Indies out in the second innings to win the match.

The smiling assassin from Magura in Southern Bangladesh led from the front with aggressive field setting and even more aggressive, focused, and well-scripted deliveries over an epic spell. As a direct consequence of Al Hasan’s actions, his bowlers, the slow bowlers in particular, found the inspiration to match his quality and intent. Their combined ability to bowl in the right areas using the good-enough turn and drift offered by the conditions in the day of days, proved simply too lethal for West Indian batters.

The tireless Al Hasan’s persistent pressure from one end generated equally positive opportunities at the other, in particular for an eager and lethal Mohammad Mahmudullah, and after Mohammad Ashraful provided another breakthrough in his effective cameo, the last pack of Windies batters returned to their dressing room until nobody could come out of there.

Al Hasan’s 3 for 39 from 28.1 overs in the innings, and 2 for 76 from 36 overs in the first, do not do justice to his remarkable performance as acting Skipper and strike bowler, or his phenomenal ability to learn quickly and apply what he has learned with decisive precision. Improvising when necessary with artful subtlety, all for the sake of the team he must lead at this young age.

So all was right in the world when this unassuming young Tiger with fangs and claws as sharp as his mind took the final West Indian wicket. His sweet and humble presence off the field perfectly compliments his passionate love of the game on it, and conceals his ferocity to his teams benefit.

With his quietly steely resolve, he confronts, he adapts, he overcomes and more often than not he, delivers with unbridled joy. Bangladesh has found its first great captain in Mortaza’s unfortunate absence. Just watch and marvel as he grows into the role ordained for him from above.

I loved Sakib's take on Riyadh. In Post tea session, when Sakib brought back Riyadh, Riyadh was bowling out of line and length. Sakib immediately replaced by himself and rested Riyadh. Sakib used Riyadh vry purposely.

Another most important thing was, Sakib never showed his emotions even though they were closing towards victory. He kept his head cool and let other boys to focus on the job first then celebrate.

Its quite obvious tht, if luck has helped us today then its Sakib's captaincy which helped us equally to get tht victory.

Sakib is a whole new breed first generation cricketer of Bangladesh.
He is destined to lead and inspire a whole nation and take us to new heights, somewhere we've never been before.

His self belief, something he seems to inject into others around him, has a different aura to it.

Thank you for your inspirational showmanship.
Thank you for this victory.

Special thnks to Sakib.
But i still remember a lot saying Sakib is not doing good at all as
an acting captain.
But after this victory evry1 started praising him.
So,we should show more patience before criticizing some1.

I hope that Mash can resume captaincy after this series, Sakib should not be burdened at such a young age, he performed brilliantly and have a good head on his shoulders, but many a good player have floundered under the burden of captaincy.

Let's hope that he pulls off another win here, and does well in the the rest of the series, I doubt whether Mash will play until the Zim series.

Now I want to see Shakib captain a match in which he know heading into the match that he is the captain of the Bangladesh side. If he doesn't crumble in pressure and continues to set good placements with a good mentality, then Shakib has proved in short term, that he is and will be a good captain.
