Yorkshire just lost another match by innings. Worcestershire is well in position against Hampshire to win their match. Hampshire lead by 53 runs with 4 wickets in hand, and one day to go. If Worcestershire can win, they move to non relegation position, and they can should be able to stay there.

hopefully, Shakib will play some more division one first class next season!

Shakib will learn more in County, but Bangladesh needs him more than ever now.

Phillip Hughes joins Worcestershire

Phillip Hughes, the Australia left-hander, will join Worcestershire in June for his third stint in county cricket.

He is currently fighting to retain his place in the Test side having endured a poor series against New Zealand where he fell to the same combination - caught Guptill, bowled Martin - in all four innings for a tally of 41 runs. With David Warner having carried his bat for 123 in the second innings in Hobart, Hughes now faces a fight to hold onto his berth for the Boxing Day Test against India.

Hughes has had previous spells with Middlesex in 2009 and Hampshire in 2010. In three matches for Middlesex before the Ashes series he scored 574 runs at 143.50 with three hundreds, but only lasted for two Tests after being troubled by Andrew Flintoff. When he returned for Hampshire the following summer he made just 85 runs in six innings.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to be heading back to England," Hughes said. "Worcestershire is a quality organisation and I can't wait to meet my new team-mates and re-acquaint myself with English conditions. My previous stint in England helped my batting enormously and I have high expectations that spending the 2012 Australian winter in the UK will do the same."

Steve Rhodes, Worcestershire's director of cricket, added: "To gain the signature of the current Australian Test opener is a tremendous boost for the club and the players for the 2012 season. Phil is a heavy run-scorer with a career ratio of a century every four games in first-class cricket."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This means Shakib will definitely not play for Worcs in the County Championship next season. He could still be called up for the T20s as there are two overseas players allowed but disappointing news nonetheless. I think his batting failures cost him.

^^^ T20 does not help Shakib.

BTW does anyone have any stats before and after he joined KKR. Test and ODI.

It's ok. I am not that upset. He is playing continuous cricket and not getting the time to rectify his mistakes. Let him work on his shortcomings and get his deadly form back then county clubs will just follow him !!!

Any possibility of being picked by another team? Real shame about not getting selected for Worc's County team - especially being replaced by Hughes, a walking wicket in the hands of NZ's bowlers. I just went to New Road today and the handful of people there, renovating and in the gift shop, were full of praise for him and his behavior

Yet in Bangladesh he is shunned for his behavior. Quadruple face palm.

Fusk Worcrapshire. Shakib is the only reason they ever made it through to Div1 (sure there are other talented players, but Shak played a major role). Now they won't even keep him and get some Oz who can't even hold a bat? #Traitormove

Make some room in Div 2 people, comin through.

This is what you call the real tough world. the day long you can serve them they will uplift with the worlds fame before crush you into the ground when going through bad patch of time! unfortunate but i guess its true for any club there so no need to curse single bee.

These two (Shak and TIK) are themselves to blame...professionalism, hard work and result really matters to survive...if you don't perform, you gota go. I mentioned earlier they are thinking they are fully committed but was there any scope for improvement. Could be, we will never know how much they put efforts to rectify their mistakes and gain the form back
