Opee is not selected even for the preliminary squad list of 20.
So he is definitely not gonna go to Australia.

Include Opee in the Squad
I cant understand why Opee hasnt been included in the primary squad of 20 for the aussie tour. I think that it is a bit unfair. Opee is ur only century maker in ODIs and a good batsmen for ur team. I think that he should be included in BDs squad for the aussie tour.
I think that u guys put a lot of pressure on ur players to perform. After all, u guys should give ur players 5-6 chances to perform and also send them in "A" team tours. I saw that Pilot who was captain of ur team for the world cup was dropped for the test series against South Africa just because he had dropped 4 catches in the world cup match against Kenya which nobody expected Bangladesh to win. U guys overlooked the 99 valuable runs which he had scored in the world cup.

Everyone thinks that Opee should not have been dropped, and yet he is dropped by the old selectors of Aliul & Co.
There's a huge debate on Pilot issue - about his being in the team or dropped from the team in this board. Read those posts.

You are right Amit. In a very short time you have learnt Bangladesh Cricket quite well. It's very difficult to develop a batsman like Opee. It takes a long time. But some people make whimsical decisions and .....
In my opinion, apprx 30% of our cricket's problems are created by people other than the cricketers themselves. There are simply too many BOSS's.

Nobody is playing as a team anymore. May be they need to upscale their performances first; what whitemore also is trying to do. Opee, Golla, Biddut...or whoever he is, Opener should use his brain. It's not always true to maintain the same average throughout the game. They should think, what to do in certain circumstances. Not only technique and practice will help the team, Use some thoughts for God's sake.

Amit if you are really a Bangladeshi fan now then don't say like "ur team", "ur players"...say "our team", "our players". Just like James, he never says "ur team" or "ur players".
Anywayz I felt bad abt it and thats y thought to bring that in ur notice. You can say anyway u like but a BD fan will always say "our team", "our players".

Ur replys -
Ehsan - My first reply is to u here. If u really think that I am a Bangladeshi fan now, so from this post i will use "our team", "our players" now. I use "our" for India but if u say, i will use it for BD also.
Fwullah - It is bad that Opee has been dropped from our(Ehsan - notice this "our") primary squad of 20 for the tour to Aus. He no doubt is a good batsmen and when he is returing to international cricket after sometime, he needs some matches to get going. I think that our selectors expect too much too soon from our players. Anyways, i have seen players who were not selected in the preliminary squad have been selected in the final 15 man squad. Lets hope that happens with Opee as well.
I think that we Bangladeshi cricket fans here have more sense than the selectors headed by Aliul.
About Pilot, he is still the best wicket-keeper we have. It is difficult to have a keeper like him. The other keeper, Selim is still young and should be send in the next "A" team tour of Bangladesh. Pilot can atleast hang around with the bat and that is the type of player we need.
Doorbin - Thanks for ur comments - "In a very short time you have learnt Bangladesh Cricket quite well." I have been following Bangladesh cricket from the test series against South Africa recently.
Opee no doubt is a good batsmen and it is unfair to drop him from the preliminary squad for the aussie tour. Any batsmen who can hit an ODI century has a lot of talent. I do not know why was he dropped. He regularly used to be selected till early 2002 in our team. I think it must be due to the regular injuries which he was getting. Do not expect too much too soon from our players. Give them some time to settle down and gain experience and if that happens, no doubt, ur team could have a world-class player soon.
