really? how often has he been used as a a bowler? As far as i know, in ODI's he only had one bad outing with the ball. in tests, insufficient data as he rarely gets the ball.

Waiting for the day when Nasir and Shakib will go head to head at the top of the ranking tables! And their fan base to argue over who's better.
(Unlike the fanbases now, where they try to prove who's worse)

New article! New article!
'I like to be a hero at the end' - Nasir
Quote:
"I like the chase, I like to be a hero at the end," Nasir told ESPNcricinfo. "I used to be a better at chasing totals when I was a kid playing under-13s and under-15s. I could finish them in style back then. Now it has become slightly more attritional as I go about a chase."

He is our potential 2nd all rounder in the team. I think the management should instruct Rahim to let him bowl few overs here and there....and I am pretty sure he will not disappoint the captain.
If we have two all rounders in Sakib and Nasir, that will open up lots of flexibility in the team makeup.
|
when i first saw him bowling i though he was as good as utseya. bowl with a low trajectory, and consistently at a good line and length. very hard to get away. batsman normally look to play him straight past him for singles, but nasir was very agile and so he was very good fielding of his own bowling so, he was diving left and right and stopping a lot of singles. and thus he was bowling some econmin overs very quick.
i thought nasir should immediately play in the national team in place of naeem or riad only for that bowling.
i am not sure whether later he has opted to concentrate only on batting and not so much in bowling, but he may be used occasionally as he had great potential to be a good off spinner, and we already know how good his batting is.
it will be great thing if nasir can turn into a very good all-rounder like shakib

Remove Mullah and Make him VC
Not because of this knock alone, but he is the best choice amongst the players who are has a permanent place in the team, in all formats of the game. He is capable to take more responsibilities and pressure as VC. And if we have people like Mushy and Nasir taking responsibilities of the team, we do have a better future.

haha, u r really after Ryad aren't you.
I don't think at such a young age we need to make him the VC.
once Sakib comes back he can be the vice captain.

Lol. Why do you ask that here? None of us is the owner of any IPL team.

I dunno it just irritates me that some unknown or virtually unknown foreign players get picked up by teams, and some bangladeshi players it takes years for them to get recognized. I think if he was to get picked up next year, it shows now people are watching our games more seriously and there aware we are starting to produce some decent world class players.

I think more people are noticing our improvement recently. However we need to do REALLY well in a global event like WC to signal our coming of age and that means reaching atleast the semifinals, not just a one off win against a big team in the group stage. That will certainly make them see us in a new light.

IMO, Shakib should never be the vice captain for sure, i think he won't accept it ever too as the former captain. He could be made the captain, if Mushy gets tired in future...
Don't forget Nasir captains a BPL franchise, which includes good number of foreign players. He was much better than Mullah even with BPL captaincy...

True. That's what always happens in soccer. Right after a world cup, all the star performers get picked up by all the major teams.

Like what happened with Ozil.
I can see Nasir doing better with the bat compared to Shakib in the long term. But early days still.
