ESPN will broadcast WC2010 in full 3D.

This groundbreaking deal means that viewers watching the matches on Sony’s 3D products will experience the sheer immediacy and visual clarity of the action as if they were on the pitch themselves. FIFA is working on whether a live right will be offered in the coming months.
“This propels the football fan into a whole new viewing dimension and marks the dawning of a new era in the broadcasting of sport,” said FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke. “We are proud that the FIFA World Cup can serve as a platform for advancing technology and the viewing experience, and are truly fortunate to have Sony as a partner in this endeavour.”

Sony Pictures Entertainment will produce and distribute the official 3D film of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ after the event.

This year's CES will be showing off lots of 3D TVs. Prices will probably come down in next couple of years once the standard is set.

Why would I want to buy a new TV for something that sounds crap anyway? They should just make extra channels called BBC 3D, ITV 3D... a

Use some common sense. A normal TV cannot just transmit 3D signals. Thats the same reason why you need a HD TV to watch HD channels.

We have been meaning to buy a tv for the last eight months. Rued after black friday and christmas...but voila! it's almost doors of heaven opened up for us right at the perfect moment...thank god we didnt buy any ordinary tv and wasted money. Yay!!

edit: now i only hope they can make adult tv shows in 3d too!

3D is good.. If its Imax 3d, its just too good.. Watched some movies in 3D.. But no TV yet..

mehh, not gonna buy 3D TV.. just gonna buy a 4D home theatre when it come out

no they told me i could keep it. i'm thinking about showing up next time with my own 3D glasses and tell them i'm gonna pay for the regular ticket since i bought my own 3D glasses.

Is it just me who finds the 3D glasses a bit annoying? Especially with me, I have to wear it on top of my normal glasses.
