My childhood hero Salahuddin has been taking BFF towards the right direction. Wish we get someone like him running BCB. Anyways, he just got back from a two week tour of other Asian countries and have gotten positive reposne from 9 coutries (Iran, Iraq, Qatar, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Turkmanistan, and couple more) to come o BD for an international tournament.

While beating up Macua and Cambodia counts for NOTHING, atleast we won matches after almost three years. The older folks probably remember us beating up on teams like Nepal and Maldives (who have improved leaps and bounds) at will. Scoring 3/4 goals against them used to be norms. Where are the Aslam's?

There are no Aslams these days and there wont be any if we dont change the culture of club football.

If you look into the top club sides, most of them have foreign strikers in their team.
Football, at the end of the day, is the game of goals. This is what separate teams and decides the winner. In the desperate bid to win the champioship, the clubs are resorting to foreign players to score for them.

But what it is doing is leaving a huge vacuum when it comes to find and rely on natioanal strikes. The pool for strikers are not upto the mark when compared to defenders or midfielder, simply becuase the big teams prefer foreign players. Even those who we have, they are left to warm the bench or play for lower graded teams.

Thus, when this same players are picked for their national duty, we see a massive shortage of quality strikers and hence the sorry state of scorelines.

I don't think it works that way. if a young striker is scoring goals in upogela games, pinior game, 1st division games i don't think he will be passed by big clubs or at least the mid or small level primiur clubs which should give him enough chances to prove to the big clubs... so i don't think foreign players r blocking the growth of strikers... i think they don't exsists

If the guys continue to work with Coach Dido, they'll improve technically and fitnesswise. I'm glad Coach Dido is emphasizing set plays, finishing, and triangulation drills.

Bangladesh face Tajikistan in opener

Bangladesh will take on Tajikistan in the opening match of the AFC Challenge Cup Final Round in Colombo on February 16, 2010.
After a one-day rest Bangladesh will play against Myanmar on February 18 and will face hosts Sri Lanka in the last match on February 20. All the matches will be played at the Sughatadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The two semi-finals will take place on February 24 with the final and the third-place play-off on February 27.
