AFC Women\'s U-17: Bangladesh-2 HongKong-3
It was comparatively good show by our ladies this time. Bangladesh lost to Hong Kong by 2- in the AFC U-17 Women's Championship match in Korea today. Bangladesh scored first in 34th minute. But HK equalized 3 minutes later. BD suffered a own goal at 71 minute, but then they were back in game at 74th minute: 2-2. But just couple of second before the end of the match at 80th minute HK scored the last goal: 3-2. Point to note that these U-17 Women's matches are 80 minute match...not standard 90 minute.
Here is the full match report from AFC:
Hong Kong defeated the gutsy Bangladesh team 3-2 in an inconsequential group B match here on Wednesday. Japan have already topped this group which also includes Guam.
Bangladesh surged ahead in the 34th minute through Rouson Bolu but Yiu Hei Man equalised for Hong Kong three minutes later. For the rest of the first half, both teams battled for ball possession in midfield.
An own goal by Pinki Shameema queered the pitch for Bangladesh in the 71st minute despite some instant damage limitation by teammate Hasina Begum just three minutes later. Begum found the net after a lonely run which saw her leaving behind her defenders.
Just when it looked like Bangladesh would walk out the winners, Cheung Wai Ki scored seconds before the final whistle to wrap up a 3-2 victory.
