Yes, you are right about mustard oil from Asian groceries. But, in crowded metropolis areas you should be able to find the Radhuni brand which I use. It is edible.

Salam every1. I hope all your fasting is going smoothly.
Allhamdullilah today is the 20th day of Ramadan only 10 more days to go.
What I was dreading was a heat wave. So far only a few days had really hot temperatures but on many days it has remained cool or bearable in London. Hope it stays like this for the remaining time too.
My Mother in Law cooked some Haleem last weekend which was a treat

I wonder if they still play the Rooafza ad during iftar time they used to play during the 90s and 00s when I was in Bangladesh.
For the past few weeks if I am at home iftar:
Date, milk, some puff pastries and chanchur
at the Mosque:
Date, Biryani, onion pakora, kebabs and fruit

This one seems to have gone really quick and smoothly. Weather hasn't really been much of a problem for those in England. This one has been a really good one for me. Didn't really consume much food either.

We are in the most important last 10 days of Ramadan.
Please make dua for me and my family and I hope all of your duas are accepted.
I also hope Allah protects our country and its people and our beloved cricket team. May we all InshahAllah have a brighter future and be forgiven for our sins.

I recently learned about two amazing projects, wanted to share with you guys here.
1) Believer Bail Out. They are raising money to use toward bail for Muslims who are stuck behind bars while they await for their trial date. Our religion is all about second chances. Before some of the companions of Prophet (SAW) came into the fold of islam, they had bad records but islam changed them.
Here is a small excerpt from their website. Read more here: https://believersbailout.org/how-we-work/
"Believer Bail Out (BBO) will bail out Muslims in partnership with the Chicago Community Bond Fund (CCBF) and Sirat Chicago. BBO will raise funds for this zakat-eligible and tax-deductible charity. Family members and supporters of incarcerated Muslims will reach out to Believers Bail Out to apply for support. Cases will be reviewed according to our criteria and BBO will partner CCBF to post bond. Once the individual is released BBO will provide support and connect them to other community resources until the case is resolved. Once the case is resolved the bond funds will return to CCBF to be used to bail out a new individual."
2) A Continuous Charity is a muslim organization that provides interest-free loans for higher education.
Excerpt from their website. Read more here: https://acceducate.org/
"Our goal is to promote the spiritual and intellectual development of Muslims throughout North America by providing interest-free loans for higher education. By doing this, we hope to bring about a generation of graduates that will have a strong Muslim identity and be well-versed in their fields, using both for the benefit of mankind."
I wanted to share names of these organizations here because I know a lot of people calculate their Zakah around this time of the year. Most of the times we send money to other countries because there is a greater need in those countries and that's great. But we should also think about here, the place we call home. There are amazing organizations trying to make a difference in people's life and we shouldn't miss out on being part of these projects. Please pass along the names of these organizations to others.

I have recently noticed that the concept of Sehri parties at home and restaurants are quite popular with Dhaka residents.
In my time in Bangladesh this was almost unheard of. I probably would have attended one or two from close family members who lived close by to me if I was in Bangladesh. But I am not sure if its a great idea.
What are your views or experiences? Do you have time for reading Fajr? Do you take your driver with you?

Salams and hope everything is having a great Ramadan so far. This time is an opportunity to multiply our good deeds and what a better way by helping your own fellow brother from BC.
As people may know I run a podcast called 'Boys In The Cave' which is purely for Dawah. Alhamdullilah we have quite a bit of reach and grown over the past couple of months.
We have had big guests on the show already such as Dr Shadee, Daniel Haqiqatjou, Dr Ghilan and many others.
http://boysinthecave.libsyn.com/
As you may imagine we have regular website costs which become tough on us. So it would be amazing in the month of ramadan if people from BC could possibly help by becoming patreon members today. It is only a small donation of $5 per month which will be used to paying for our websites online and also getting equipment so we can expand even further in shaa Allah.

May Allah reward you all !

Everything gets commercialized for the wrong reasons. You also have Iftar buffets these days where you stuff yourself from Iftar to Sheri. Wth?

Any free food is welcome. So either its ifter or Sehri, i accept all of them, with no exception. If I have multiple invitation, then I ask for menu and then decise with one to attend first and which one I go to just show face.
Do you have time for reading Fajr?
Usually the host arrange for Fajr. if not, I return back home and pray Fajr.
Do you take your driver with you?
Yes, of-course. because I am the one who drives.

TBH one can stuff themselves at home too. But I don’t think this Sehri party would be to my preference because I would rather eat and pray in peace and go to sleep straight afterwards.
I have been to an Iftar buffet in London organised by a leading caterer Sapna and tbh their functions are good. They have their own hall and also have separate rooms for prayer even for the women. People are more or less civil at queues

Salam well. Nearly the blessed month is over.
Please can you guys report if Eid is declared in your Country?
As of now, someone in Australia has declared Eid on Saturday? But I doubt it is authentic

Lolz....
We celebrate Eid at my inlaws. At her house its usually Shemai paratha (for me chicken as I cant stand that combo) before Eid prayers.
Followed by chicken pastry and shemai after Eid prayer snacks.
Lunch usually some biryani, chicken roast and kebab tikka.
Damn it now I am hungry!
You and Bhabi are welcome, but cant say the same for your feline friends
What is the spread at your castle?
