Team for the 2nd Test
I would make two changes. Bring in Shafiul for Rubel and Enam for Razzak. I am not a huge fan of Shafiul, because of his tendency to leak runs. But, Rubel leaks runs as well. Shafiul at least picks up some wickets. Razzak is a no-brainer for ODI, but is not a test bowler. We should give Enam a chance, if he is healthy. He, with Shakib, is an attacking SLA (unlike our other SLAs).

দুঃখ তো সেটাই। Their love for "express" pace kept Shahadat too long in the team. Now, the same episode will probably be repeated with Rubel. If you check my posts from earlier days, I was a big Rubel fan. But, his approach to bowling has slowly disillusioned me.

Al Amin should get a chance in place for Rubel. That would be my only change for the XI in the 2nd Test. Anamul and Marshall should get another match to display their skills.

Not denying Razzak being useless in Tests but remember Sunny in his last Test against SL bhai? The man was bowling slower than my little cousin. So slow, the Lankans would drink a cup of tea before playing him. He's not bad but these SLAs are all the same, doesn't really matter who you put in tbh

no denying that, but SL isn't NZ and what i have seen so far in this test i think sunny's slow spin would have been more useful then SL, anyway no way to add sunny to this squad as the squad is already declared
if it was upto me to select a squad from this 14 i would have made a spinning wicket and picked mullah in place of razzak, mullah would have been more useful then razzak in test, and hoped that shakib and gazi would be enough for NZ batsman, and with 8 batsman and gazi we might score some decent run

I'm sure it's something team management will think about since Riyad does have a much better Test record than Razzaks and obviously is a much better batsman.

We all have seen all the spinners in test cricket. Razzak is not a test material yet, though he has improved a bit. Enam and Sunny are better test bowler than Razzak. Overall I like Sunny among the 3.Sunny has a good line and length. In srilanka he did bad that's true. But we need to remember that Srilankans play spin far more better and those were in batting track. Further more sunny has a good home record.

no desire to watch Rubel & Vijay.
Drop Rubel, pick Al AMin
Drop Vijay, pick Naeem.
And yes, if needed NAeem can open, if Vijay with such poor technique and others like Kaedge,SN can open then Naeem can too.
Marchal deserves a full Test series, besides he wasn't bad, 25 & 32 are good starts, he just needs to convert.
I would drop Raazaq if possible but right now as Sakib isn't bowling much we need some1 to bowl long spell, and who knows in a better spin track Razzaq can be lethal.
Wish Elias was there.

Your saying that Marshall deserves a full series but not Bijoy? Kind of hypocritical wouldn't you think?
Since both have been picked, give them a full series. Bijoy has played just 2 Tests. Give him a run of 5 Tests before thinking about dropping him for Tests. Same goes for Marshall. The adjustment from our domestic FC to Tests is much bigger than we think. These 2 have been at the top for domestics for some time now. So give them time and see

it's not hypocritical at all.
Bijoy looked clueless both in Zim & in this Test ,he got out three times( no ball wicket), according to me he is not ready yet both mentally & technically.
And as I mentioned MArshall got good starts in both innings & it was his debut match, so keeping him is a must.
Besides Bijoy has been very much out of form lately,

He didn't play against Zimbabwe. Did you mean SL?
By the way, he might not be in the best form but he was certainly better compared to the other top order batsmen. It's not as if we have Gayle waiting in the wings. Anamul's been successful at the domestic, U19, Academy and A team levels. Don't you think he at least deserves a run in the top order especially since it's been such a problem for us?
And your suggesting Naeem to open since Imrul and SN could. He opened against WI and that too in an ODI. He batted alongside Imrul for a while that innings and Imrul looked far more comfortable than Naeem that day.
So you ask what's my point then? My point is you can't just throw players in different roles. That's asking for pure disaster. Naeems role has always been as a middle order batsman. Check where he bats in domestics even. If he doesn't even bat as a top order in domestics then how can you throw him in as an opener for international cricket?

the reason behind simon bhais saying is probably that even though anamul just played Two test,he has been with the squad for quite some time, while marshal just got in.. And both of the test match pitch anam played were flat track road. Yet he failed on both occasion.. I have no problem anam playing in the next match, but if he again fail to perform,i think its time to look for other options or start experimenting naeem or other player as test opener..

If Anamul doesn't work out as Test opener then bring back Jahurul rather than Naeem to open. He's been the next best top order batsman in FCs and hasn't been bad in Tests and most importantly is a top order batsman unlike Naeem and has lots of experience at opener

ya, he looked miserable on both occasions despite of good batting conditions.
We are talking about the two matches where we scored 638 & 501.
He looked good in ODIs though, let him play ODIs, get some runs/experience.

Rubel needs to go, might as well give Al-Amin a chance. Razzak has and will always be poor in tests, but don't know who should replace, there isn't another specialist spinner in the squad.

I really hope Anamul wont be dropped from the limited overs side because of his Test performances. We have seen many times selections are made for one format based on performances in a different format. Dont want to see this kid get destroyed by poor planning from the management. As I said before SJ needs to do with Anamul what Siddons did with Tamim which is to improve his technique and help him survive at this level. So far I see no apparent individual improvement to any of our cricketers since Stuart Law left. Pace bowling has regressed a lot since then too. If SJ can't do it then BCB needs to hire a batting coach who could do it.

I would also like Enam Jr to be in the team, but he is not in the squad.
