Did anyone listen to what the NZ commentators said about BD cricket? Their domestic setup SUCKS.
Worst in all the G8 Asian countries. It has to be fixed at the grass roots, if not, these cricketers will not be a threat to G8 teams, and will always be a push over.
Youth, stature and lack of mental toughness are against them. They can only beat a G8 team once in a blue moon, and I am sure that a few Assocites can beat them too, especially Ireland. Let's hope that they do not face Ireland in WC 20/20.

No we're better than Ireland. But not same way as NZ being better than us. Ireland lost to Afghans....hilarious. Think Afghans might then beat us next time!

With all these extra T20 games, our domestic FC comp is becoming even smaller now. We really need to fix it. Plus all the decentralization stuff and facilities. Lotus could prob personally fund an entire ground or three. Pay in FC also need to increase.

And we really need to now stop looking for bits-and -pieces players at U-19 level and find specialists. Too many left-arm spin all-rounders/bit-and-pieces players as well as keepers who can't keep in the whole god-damn country. Its a license to bat anyway you like if you can catch 60-70% of the time.

Because we do not possess the tenacity of performance, after doing good a session we go lackluster and start playing wayward be it batting, bowling, fielding.

mental, i don't know what possesses the batsmen to go out there and play haphazard strokes in test cricket, strength in numbers, they pretty much all have the same problem so should all be working together to help get themselves in the right place. shakib really needs to step up as captain, can't expect your men to put in the hard work if you're not willing to do it. maybe the players don't have the motivatio to succeed at the international level, and don't tell me it's the coaches job, if they don't have the internal motivation then they're wasting their time.

We have never selected 15 out of 15 players with the basic ability to sustain success at this level. Developing that ability into the type of application that can produce consistently acceptable performances in the international arena is altogether a different, qualitatively adequate infrastructure related issue, but lacking that, you have to select according to ability first and foremost in my opinion.

Then again, you have to know what that ability is or at the least, understand what's going on in front of your face whenever you watch international cricket. Our deficit there is infinitesimally greater than the shameful inability to speak shundor Bangla, or the cavalier disregard for putting together a grammatically correct English sentence with properly selected and spelled words when posting on an Internet forum without shamelessly copy-pasting content from elsewhere. But that's obviously debatable.

Anyway, the point is, we always start with at least a quartet of dead weight pretty much guaranteed to drag us down to cricketing suckiness at least 8 out of 10 times in the international arena. We always start with that handicap. Things look especially dismal when our usual performers fail to perform and there's no streaky and therefore unsustainable performance from someone else in the lineup. Brain dead captaincy from a clueless captain susceptible to random brain freezes completes the humiliation. Together, this gives people the impression that we don't have enough talent in the country to truly deserve the status we've had for a decade now. This provides regular, anti-Bangladesh fodder for the Tools and PhDouches out there. They know flukes contrary to the painful to watch norm can and does happen even when we choose not to recognize them as such.

So, we're left with anomalies and our collective prayer. We have plenty of both to go with our alga matobbori and BS opinions while natural, organic progression all to often fueled by our passion slowly moves us forward.

I'll tell you why.

Because of easily impressed fans. We should call a spade a spade. I've been calling Mushfiqur Rahim a joke for a long time. While you guys went gaga over one knee jerk knock at Asia cup.

Get real.

- After Pilot and Bashar left the team, there was no senior player to keep the kids discplined.

- With recent succes+BPL+ media hype+fan frenzy has affected their attitudes towards the game on and off the field

- Players are ignoring the basics of cricket ie physical fitness and fielding

- Poor team selection and poor rotation of bowlers

Blind fans who don't care that our domestic cricket structure is a sham and a farce. As long as kids in BD never keep playing continuous 4 day first class tourneys on green-top pacer friendly pitches, Bangladesh Cricket Team will always suck against the world. Including against Ireland and Netherlands.

After so many shameless losses in recent times, this is HIGH time for us to stop playing cricket, and start playing Kabadi! If we had spent 1/10000000 money, that we spent in cricket, in sports like football/hockey they could have given us more pleasure than those bunch of clown cricketers who are humiliating whole nation every chance they get.

After 14 years, we are still talking about fixing "domestic structure". Is it a joke?

Why can't we just follow SriLank's foot steps? Why can't we copy their domestic structure? They have one of the BEST school cricket structure in cricketing world. They have been successful, and they are much better than INDIA and PAKISTAN.

Deeply think about it....I think it is because we are a bunch of khojas and we find it hard to accept it. so we continue to act like a man with a very bad make-up and incredibly bad attitude!

It is amazing after watching cricket all these years, only player that shows the urgency to do better is Shakib. I am excluding Rafiq, pilot era players. I saw glimpses of it in Nasir. But that was it. The way our players get out playing rash shots reflects their lethargic attitude. No me but Shakib showed the guts and courage. I think players apart from Shakib lacks the belief that they can be world class or world beaters. The lack of belief in themselves create lack of ambition and lethargic body language. If we had just 2/3 more players like Shakib then the scenerio would be different.

We have been playing test cricket for almost 14 years and BCB couldn't create a proper first class structure. We have been receiving the same feedback since 2000 and our so called BCB directors, president, selectors still behaving the same way. We all know where the problem is - Raja jai raja ashe. Why would you pick Shamsur, Razzak and Nasir ?
Why would you replace Mashrafe with Rubel ? Well, I guess the match was pointless, maybe thats why....

it's extremely frustrating to see, whatever semblance of balance this team has to be completely gone in two years.

and we are back to 2006-2007 level. Now there will be a few debutantes in every match. There is not a single proper replacement anywhere.

these cricket admins suck bigtime.

the only person I miss is Jamie. He was a fantastic coach. Sadly almost nobody else has looked into the technical matters the way he did.

look at nasir. The kid just forgot how to play. And his misery is being extended every match. Yet it seems that he,has got the right support to come back to form. He looks completely out of sorts for how long now?

Our national team is a disgrace. Die hard fans of BD cricket do not deserve this they deserve much better. It's not just losing but capitulating in such disgraceful manner without even putting up a fight match after match, series after series is a real issue. I don't know how these idiots sleep at night. If they deserved the accolades they got in the past when they tried hard, they also deserve to be ridiculed and disgraced now as they have been playing like cowards. This thread deserves to be made a sticky.
