Somebody drop Raqibul.

And Abeer bhai is doing fine! He just scored a fluent fifty, what are you talking about? He has had very good success in places like Australia - I wonder why there are still questions about his technique.

Rokibul did pretty well in this test. Don't understand why you want to drop him after just 1 test.

Imrul needs to go from tests. 30 innings with only 1 50 is just atrocious. Forget about 50's. Imrul has scored over 40 only twice in his test career which came in that 1 game against England. Also he's not doing well in ODIs either. No half centuries in the last 8 innings. So Imrul has to be under pressure in all forms and not just tests.

My lineup for 2nd test

1. Tamim
2. Naeem
3. SN
4. Rock
5. Mushy
6. Shakib
7. Riyad
8. Nasir
9. Sunny
10. Shahadat
11. Rubel

Sadi in case of test cricket Tamim and Mushy is our best batsman.Riyad is also better batsman than Shakib in test cricket. In our context Shakib is not too bad batsman but the question is how he bats.Shakib hardly adjusts his batting style according to the length of the match.Sometimes Shakib bats in such a style in tests it looks ugly.
If Shakib want to bat within 6 he will have to take responsibility. He ll have to bat according to situation. To me Riyad should bat above Shakib so i dont see any place for Shakib above 6.He should bat at #7.
1.Tamim
2. . . . . . Need to find a real test opener.
3.SN(Opening will not be a good option for him in future)
4.Rock
5.Mushy
6.Riyad
7.Shakib
8.Naeem

I say keep the same team.

Let Riyad drink few more soups and orange juice while recovering his strength.

if we really need to change the team for the sake of it, then drop Shahadat or Rubel and bring Nazmul.

Our fast bowlers are toothless in Mirpur, I see no point bringing three FBs. Rahim is not going to use them that much anyway.

If you really want to shake up the batting order (which I don't think is necessary at this series), then Ya drop Imrul and bring Hom and let SN or Naeem bat at opening.

Ya Law and Rahim doesn't know anything also I guess as they let Naeem open in ODI.

If somebody can open in ODI and successfully survive against 2nd new ball against the same WI FBs , I don't see what cardinal sin someone has done suggesting Naeem to open.

No matter what team get selected...I always want Mushy to bat at no 4 or 5 position...making him bat at 6 or 7 is just a waste of his talent

To me the current best 11 will be:
1.Tamim
2.SN(Sorry man it will be a tough job for you but no way)
3.Junaid(Performing very well in last few tests)
4.Rock
5.Mushy
6.Riyad
7.Shakib
8.Naeem
9.Sunny
10.Shahadat
11.Rubel
*But our selectors will stick with the same squard and they will pick Riyad in place of Nasir.

Test match opening should be left to specialist openers. If particular batters are being successful at certain batting positions then it would be foolish to disturb that balance. So if kayes is dropped then I would keep everything same apart from sending nafees to opening and bringing in someone new like hom or mahmudullah at 3.

For me I think Imrul Kayes needs to go, but I wouldn't let Mahmudullah come in as he is probably a bit rusty after not playing cricket for a while.

1.Tamim Iqbal
2.Naeem Islam
3.Shahriar Nafees
4.Roqibul Hasan
5.Mushfiqur Rahim
6.Shakib Al Hasan
7.Nasir Hossain
8.Shuvagoto Hom
9.Elias Sunny
10.Shahadat Hossain
11.Rubel Hossain

Riyad shouldn't play this Test. He should rest for more days.

1. Tamim
2. Nafees
3. Shuvagoto Hom/ Raqibul
4. Raqibul
5. Mushy
6. Shakib
7. Naeem
8. Nasir
9. Sunny
10. Shahadat (Give him more games. Didn't play a single international games for almost 2 years.)
11. Rubel.

Same squad.

Riyad should be rested. Not easy to come and perform after dengue fever ( dengue it was, right ?)
Body is usually very weak for a while. I guess the selectors would have a good look till friday night.

IK should play for the series.

Naeem,
Nasir,
Sunny,
Rajib,

This is a very strong batting lineup and it is a very deep batting lineup to. Packed with spinners. 3 offies in Riyad Naeem and Nasir, 2 SLA's in Shakib and Sunny. Rubel and Rajib can handle the new ball and rubel for some reverse swing later if needed.

But my only worry is nafees and rakibul coming in early and facing pace and the swinging ball. But that is a risk we need to take, if we can survive the first 15 overs or so losing maximum of one wicket then a big score is possible. The middle order of rahim shakib riyad looks really strong and they should come together in the lineup so they can partner each other
Exactly my sauad.

No change. End of discussion.

Riyad- sorry buddy, VC is NOT a auto choice. If you weren't a VC you would be sitting out.

couple of things to change from my observation. This is Dhaka, not Chittagong. So we need 3 seamers and we need Riyad
Tamim
Nafees
Naeem (He should bat here)
Mushy
Shakib
Riyad
Nasir
Elias
Nazmul
Shahadat
Rubel

Wanted to give Roqibul a chance but cant find a slot for him. If Riyad is cleared to play, he will and should play. Not only he is our VC, he is one of the better test batsmen. Cant drop Nasir because it would drown his confidence. He played well too. Naeem could be dropped for Riyad if Roqib plays because frankly, Naeem hasnt been any use with the bowl and I dont think he gets much nod ahead of Roqib or Riyad where batting is concerned.

I feel like Mirpur pitch would demand us to have another pacer in. Nazmul in. Imrul out. And shift all the bats up one.

To be fair, Naeem was only given 2 overs in the match and he gave 4 runs. It's nothing to be excited about but it isn't a poor performance in the circumstances.

Somethings to look out for the next test:

If Imrul is dropped, the first person to replace his position would be Nafees, which means raqibul has to be play at no 3. Raqibul has been a middle order batsman for pretty much his whole career I assume. Question is, how he's going to cope with the new ball if a wicket falls too early. I am far too skeptical about playing him at 3.

This same problem persists even if we bring Riyad. He probably will never bat that up the order. The only solution i see is having naeem bat up the order at 3. The the XI:

Tamim
Nafees
Naeem
Raqibul
Mushfiq
Shakib
Riyad
Nasir
Sunny
Shahadat
Rubel

Otherwise, and more likely because our selectors hardly a proactive bunch, Riyad will come in at the expense of Naeem in his position.

hmm...I think it's high time BD should play with 3 pacers....also, Riyad should not play since he didn't get enough practice and will be rusty

Tamim
Nafees
Naeem/Rock
Shakib
Mushy
Nasir
Sunny
Shahadat
Nazmul
Rubel

Who should Riyad replace? There's no point playing him just for the heck of it. Save him for the Pakistan series.
