i say junaed should play in this game ... he should open with tamim.if he plays carefully we can expect a half century atleast if not a century ... cause he seems to play comfortably with tamim. but after imruls century i doubt they`ll let junaed open with tamim. actually you know what i say keep imrul for now ... ? ?? i dont know ...im confused! lol

improve upon 2008 performance.

back then all we had was shahadat in bowling dept, now there is shakib too. back then tamim/junaid were on debut...better batsmen. no fleming or mills. we should play better and really push NZ.

Imrul scoring the Century may force the selectors to give youknowwho the axe

Since am I fan of whoyouknow who ... I'll guess Naeem will Carry Drinks and Mushy will Catch.

I still think Imrul Record in Test Cricket speaks for it's self and theres gonna 4 slips this time ... So Anything Spiderman cant catch the slip fielders will.

I just hope Z and Mushy will hold on to there catches

Interesting... But wouldn't it be a much better lineup with 11 Sakibs in the team instead of 2?

1. Tamim
2. Imrul ( he'd save Junaed from the new ball+ high confidence from 100 might do sth )
3. Junaed Siddique
4. Mushfiqur Rahim ( we desperately need a keeper who can catch, but he's a good test bat)
5. Mahmudullah RIyad
6. M. Ashraful
7. Naeem Islam
8. Sakib Al-Hasan (one match here would be a wake-up call for a current wannabe test bastman)(our spin hope lies in him)
9. Shahadat Hossain ( >greater than Ash+Sakib?)
10. Rubel Hossain
11. Shafiul Islam (Rubel+Shafi would make a good fast bowling pair)

What was their highest test score against the Kiwis? Cant remember. They have recorded their highest ODI innings against the Kiwis, now it is time for them to record their highest test score.

Actually in 2008, even though they lost, they did not lose by an innings and no Kiwi batsman made a century against them.
They did not do very badly against India, but that was on home ground, here, they are playing on bouncy wicket and they are not used to it.
When these guys go to SA, NZ, England and Australia, they cannot play the rising ball and being short in stature does not help. I dont know why Siddons does not address this problem at home and get the curator to build a bouncy wicket for them to practice on.

I think time has come that we use 5 bowlers, it will be crucial to have the 5th bowler, perhaps in the form of Enamul. Having Shakib in the team allows us a team with 12 players, 7 batsmen, and 5 bowlers.

Nope - we got slaughtered in both Tests matches in NZ. Even the immensely untalented Matthew Bell scored a hundred against us.

Well, my team has at least 5 bowlers...3 pacers in Shahadat, Rubel and Shafi and spinners in Sakib and Naeem. NZ wickets don't spin anyways, so what's the use in playing a specialist in Enam who noone will guarantee can even take wickets at home? I think the extra batsman may help more, even in the form of Ashraful.

There's nothing to understand. He failed to perform in NCL hence didn't get a call up.

I don't think Nayeem himself would consider him as a test quality bowler. In an ODI he might put in 4-5 overs, but in tests you need to have specialist bowlers.
But if we don't play the extra spinner, the work load on Shakib becomes enormous, which has adverse affect on his bowling and batting. So i hope we take an extra specialist spinner and let Shakib be Shakib

[QUOTE=offstump;1075651]THE TEST TEAM HAS NO RELATION WITH THE TEAMS THAT PLAYED IN ODI'S.

IT HAS RELATION WITH THE TEAM THAT PLAYED WITH INDIA IN THE 2ND TEST.

if u cant remember ..... this was it ....

tamim
imrul
zunaed
ashraful
raqibul
shakib
mushfiq
riyadh
rajib
shafiul
rubel

now what will be the changes ??????

tamim- cant drop him scored a century in the last test
imrul- did not have a good test series but his century today will ensure his place in the team
zunaed- had a good partnership with tamim and so he will get his chance
ashraful- was involved in a good parnership with shahadat and will keep his place
RAQIBUL- hasnt had a good outing in any form recently, dropped from ODI, could be dropped from tests but could get lucky as he is labeled our FC specialist
shakib- u cant drop captain
mushfiq- automatic selection
riyadh- one of our best performers in the last series
shahadat (the pace trio is doing OK)
shafiul (do)
rubel (do)

now other members in the squad looking for a chance are

nazmul- not in full fitness or form to take the place og the trio
razzak- will we go with the 2nd spinner ???
naeem- fav to replace Raqibul if he gets dropped
aftab- well everybody says he is not for this form of the game, very little chance form him to come.

So form-wise the only change could happen from the last test is naeem for raqibul.

now any tactical change ????? is there any possibility that we drop a batsmen include a 2nd spinner (razzak )or a 4th seamer (nazmul)?????[/QUOT
bro I think you gonna get it right...well analyzed
