I'm in awe...pakistan used 4 bowlers in the match. This is some kind of rare feat....I remember in the late 90s when Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop, and Patterson Thompson used to demolish batting lineups...

I think Pakistan usually uses 4 bowlers anyways, they win matches for them since their batsmen suck

Of late, they were using 5 bowlers- 3 pacers, 2 spinners.
Now, they have genuine match winners: Amir, Shah, Wahab.
Speaking of Shah, he is the first legspinner to be ranked #1 test bowler in the world in 11 years since WARNE.

Pakistan played really fantastic cricket. Excellent win. Shah is a super spinner.

Yasir seems to have been nullified and Amir still hasn't impressed yet.

what happened to YAsir Shah now ?

Yasir 213 runs is also the highest conceded by a Pakistan bowler in a Test innings in England.

how unpredictable cricket is.
This is why I don't rate a quality spinner as much as I rate a quality fast bowler.
If the conditions don't help spinners look ineffective.

This makes no sense, surely if a spinner reaches the top despite these disadvantages he should be rated the same if not higher?
Not talking about Yasir as he's only played 13 matches and a drugs cheat

Azhar Ali reaches his 100 and is going solid..along with him is Younis..They'll be looking to get as close as possible to England's 1st inning score of 297 before close of play today. They are currently on 213/2

AlhamduLillah. A win is always sweet but a win on 14 August is always sweeter. Like i remember Pakistan beating India on 29th of Ramadhan that also doubled the joy of eid ul fitr.

well deserved victory by Pakistan. And it keeps us from being bombarded with articles proclaiming how this England side is the shiznit. So double kudos! I liked how Warne apparently helped Yassir by telling him to slow down his action. Seems to have made a difference.

So if SL/AUS series ends 2-0, and West Indies draws the last test....Pakistan will gain the #1 ranking in tests./

This English team is still very strong. Pakistan as soon as Misbah and Younis Khan retires watch what happens to them ....other than Yasir shah and only a handful of seamers there is not much to talk about them... Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq and Sami Aslam will have to carry much of the batting load after Misbah and Younis Khan retires.
Misbah is one of best captains in modern day cricket...making the most of his limited resources.
Best Test Captain of 21st century: Misbah
Best limited overs captain of 21st century: Brendan McCullum/Mashrafee Mortaza

Misbah is a leader in the same mold as Clive Lloyd, Steve Waugh, and Arjuna...Lots of respect for him

Impressive result by Pakistan considering how Australia lost and India getting pummeled in England. Also a very good series by both teams. It should be a 5 match Test series next time

147 (83) with 15 overs to go.
Double century there for the taking....
