The emergence of Nasir in the middle order and Jahirul in the top order has really changed the face of this batting unit. Now tamim has an able partner in Nazim and Jahirul, and Shakib/mushy has Nasir to provide able support.
razzak bowled very well to keep the runs down while shahadat was gifting boundaries. I would keep the same line up and only include naz for the injured shafi

Tamim
Nazimuddin
Jahurul
Mushfiq
Shakib
Nasir
Mahmudullah
Elias Sunny
Razzak
Mashrafe
Nazmul

Sri Lanka will rely more on 1's and 2's and than big hitting. Best strategy would be to choke them and deprive them of singles. Force them to play shots. Would love to see Nazmul instead of Shahadat and Elias replacing Shafiul.

Wish to see nazmul in the team...anamul might have to wait later for his debut

Inshallah jitbo, they say were being complacent but theyre forgetting that we can win against SL because weve been very competitive and done well with whatever resource we had. At the same time SL werent the best with the bat and bowlingwise not good enough.

JItbo Inshallah!!

hey allah, ei matchtateu tumi amaderke jitie dio!

I've learned to temper my expectations when it comes to Bangladesh, so not expecting too much. I just hope we don't have a massive letdown after the incredible performance against India. I'd like us to compete for the 100 overs, and given that, I'll accept whatever the result turns out to be.

We started the tournament well against Pakistan, but fell at the final hurdle, crossed it against India, and I just don't want the tournament to end on a downer.

Dilshan, Mahela, Sanga will be looking to bounce back, lets hope it doesn't happen against us!

SL top four look very dangerous though the lower order doesn't look all that threatening. Will be interesting to see how we deal with Malinga. If we chase, we shouldn't leave too much to do at the end. On recent form I had say we are almost equal to SL. Insha Allah we will win.

I hope Nazimuddin does something special. And Nazmul gets picked. Make it Naz n Naz show. Same squad except Sunny for Raz, and Naz for Shafi (injured?). 1 change really.

Ans Zee, you seriously aren't taking credit for GAYLE's Ton! That's a given.
good observations

one can hope that those days are over...but i guess we won't know for sure until it happens...

squad should be:

Tamim
Nazimuddin
Jahurul
Mushfiq
Sakib
Nasir
Lullah
Mashrafee
Sunny
Nazmul
Razzak

I dont think shahadat shud get picked for his poor bowling. And at the same time adding Elias sunny wont be too bad as he has been in good touch

A must win match for BD. Best of luck.

It is a semi-final match, as the game decides which one of Bangladesh, India, or Sri Lanka will face off with the other finalist.

Just because so far in Asia cup we looked way better team than Srl doesn't make me relax at all.

What to do?
Win toss; bat 2nd, after looking at BD chasing down 290+ & Ind chasing 329 they will try to score 300+ and play too many shots.
That's where we have to bowl cleverly & field like we did vs Pak.

Stayed up until 730 AM to watch Pak Bat. Went to sleep with apprehension, and woke up to my fears fulfilled.

However, we are in our own hands. So GO BANGLADESH!

Quote:
So here's the equation. Pakistan are through to the final. India are on eight points but not there yet. They will wait on the result of the next game. A win for Bangladesh, with or without a bonus point, means that they are through, so India get knocked out. Therefore, Bangladesh need nothing less than a win. Sri Lanka are out so they will play for pride.

Key Point against Sri Lanka:

1) Watch Out for Malinga & Maharoof
2) Use Pace Bowlers Against Top 3 batsmen, Dilshan, Sangakkara and Chandimal
3) And the huge factor for the match is The Big Toss, So far team Batting second won every Match.
4) Use Rahim as Pinch Hitter, Game Finisher.

My team:

1) Imrul Kayes (Av: 27.97)
2) Tamim Iqbal (Av: 29.53)
3) Jahurul Islam (Av: 33.14)
4) Nasir Hossain (Av: 39.44)
5) Shakib Al Hasan (Av: 35.11)
6) Mahmudullah Riad (Av: 29.95)
7) Mushfiqur Rahim (Av: 25.77)
8) Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (Av: 15.29)
9) Abdur Razzak (Av: 12.76)
10) Nazmul Hossain (Av: 4.37)
11) Shahadat Hossain (Av: 7.90)

Look at England...all practicing away in SL making game plans and strategies. SL should focus on what is more important - hosting England in the Test matches. I would suggest that they have their stars focus on that. They should play this game with some of their second string people to figure out who is Test worthy.

I am just saying. Think about it SL. Won't you?

If our batsmen can't convert 50s to 100s we will never win regularly.
don't remember who said it but one of our batsman said after the win vs Ind that we need to get 100s because it's not everyday that 4-5 players will get 50s.

This is probably going to be one of the most difficult tests for our players in their careers so far. Another example would be when we had to beat SL with bonus points to be able to make the finals of the triangular tournament a few years ago. SL are the favorites by hundreds of miles and we will have to play out of our skins. It isn't as simple as many people are making it sound like.

Go BD Go. If bowling is sharp as it was against India and the batting is sensible, we will win. Inshallah.
