4. Decent start for most batsmen.
5. Entertainment provided.

If ppl asked me would I accept this, I must say I would have !
On the contrary, I am ready to sacrifice all those so-called positives for a draw. Like you I also consider them as positives; but in the hindsight each of the positives has some negatives in it:
1. If we can take the game in to the 5th day (that proves we have the ability to do well), why can not we save it?
2. Why do we have to follow on after an excellent start by the top order?
3. What is the use of a 100 or a 5 for when it can not win the match? Haven't we seen these achievements before? Even Durjoy has a 6 wicket haul. And why throw your wicket away when you are well set scoring a 100?
4. Starting the innings is the most difficult part. So, why you can not continue after doing the hard part right?
5. What's the point of providing the entertainment when losing the match? Most of the time England play test matches really ugly; but who cares when that can win matches? Winning a match is 100 times more important than providing the crowd some entertainment.

Still about 100 runs needed. Time to squeeze on.

I don't know how these guys call themselves cricketers. With such little brain, they shouldn't even play under-19's teams. What's the use of all this talent and entertaining strokeplay if you do exactly the same as a Kenyan side of today would do?

I was really impressed by the top four's batting in both innings, but the middle order just forced the momentum back to the hosts on both occasions. If you still cannot string together 3 perfect sessions after playing so many tests, really, what the hell? We definitely have the talent, and hence should play test cricket. But I really doubt our players understand what test cricket is. Its not about feeling satisfied after achieving a milestone, its about putting it in for the team. The team is closely bonded, but somehow that doesn't equate to them all clicking together as a unit. Its really irritating...

I also don't understand why these idiots keep saying " fans want us to win every game, whether its vs India or Australia"....why, can't we expect you idiots to actually all perform at the same day and not stuff up from winning positions every 3-4 games? Before we did not have talent, but we still won under Shujon; when we sniffed a win things just fell into place...now, here we are in 2010, and despite creating chances in 3 of the last 6 tests, we have not come anywhere near close to winning. Its the fact that you morons keep giving ground from great positions so often.

Maybe you guys do not understand, but you had all the arsenal to beat them in all three tests, and YOU let it go. You cannot possibly all get out under swinging conditions every time it happens...unless you have no ability to learn, which in turn disqualifies you as cricketers.

In case you were referring to my post just above yours, this test actually vindicates Jamie to an extent, in the sense that our top order has improved its shot-making capability almost 100% over the lastfew months..and our middle order proved that our cricketers really have gobor as brains as they only were scoring centuries few months back, but now they have "forgotten" to bat. Players from other countries fight back to form, we just keep going the same way until someone laughs at us.

My complaint about Jamie is that he could not deliver us a win, but then my above para largely gives the reason why he can't.

As someone predicted earlier it'll be a 8 wicket win for England, the match is over.

Now it is time to find out the positives from the match and open threads on how Siddons have contributed to them.

Not a bad finish to the Test, better than I had expected. Too bad the lower-middle order didn't click and the bowlers were their sorry selves. Otherwise we could have saved this one.

I think its a sorry finish, not once did we look to take their wickets with the crappy bowling and defensive field settings. i would have accepted a 10 wicket loss with us trying rather than just delaying the inevitable with mediocre cricket.

Mushfiq and Mahmudullah were the underperformers with the bat. Haven't said this before. Our bowling needs a serious makeover. These next 3 days should be focused solely on our pace bowling.
