He has done better in longer version of the game. Although I think that he will need some time to learn the nuances of ODI, but I think he will do well in the long run.

Remember that pic with his old guru Sir Ash...sorry to be offtopic in this thread..but hope his height won't be a problem when facing beamers from Roach, FE and Ravi

Best batsman in the world? Really? He's in for a rude awakening then. This lack of humility bothers me. Maybe this came across the wrong way in the print media, but for a local NCL hero not be excited about representing his country is an effing shame.
|
I don't think it is a lack of humility. He has to be excited to be in the team. But, perhaps he has bigger dreams and did not want to appear too excited.

Lesson to the new comers? Kotha bolecho to Morecho... you will be over analyzed, people will look for hidden message... either your response will be termed too norom-shorom or it will be sounded like spoiled brat or too ghar-tera.
If possible avoid any lenthy conversation with the reporters, 1st play and create some credibility and result, then open your mouth... then anything you say will be turned into "honey coated" speach... any small hickup will be ignored and forgotten.

Heard that he played the West Indian pacers very well and handled short pitched bowling the best in the practice match despite being small. Height can obviously help with your reach but it doesn't mean you'll be good in playing short pitched deliveries. Junaid should be an excellent example of that. Mushy and Naeem play short balls far better in my opinion despite being smallish batsmen

Mominul is undoubtedly the greatest brain that ever walked (not literally like Crang from TNMT!) the face of the earth.
When asked why you bowled 10,000 times wide at a stretch, he smiled, paused and said: "Why?! I did not fail 10,000 times but I just found 10,000 deliveries that would not work."
That's admirable strength folks.
Disclaimer: He is not a bowler, a batsman. The post was in jest. Please don't pull a n00b to grill me and lol I don't want newcomers to get the wrong message that we are actually sending a bowler up there... :P

Zeeshan, my old-brain is still trying to figure out what you tried to say. Since sometimes read only the first sentence, it seems that Bradman just had a rebirth. Or something like that.

This is the 1st time you played for the national team, and indeed you played for the team, not for yourself. when you came, RR needed to be addressed and you tried your best. That made those 29 ball 31 runs so valuable, specially considering this is your first game.
I see bright future !!!!!

Very good job. He has effectively taken some pressure off Anamul and allowed him to complete his century without pressure.....very well played 31.... Carry on.

Mominul looks solid as a batsman. For some reason to me he didn't look as solid in BPL for me. Well knock today though.

Mominul is one cool mother. Judging by what I saw tonight.
Hope he keeps this type of Shakib mentality. Not freaking out, just steady smooth cricket eliminating pressure.

Very pleasing to watch him bat. Compact technique and a very composed approach to batting. He will go on to do very well.

I was correct. He does have the mental ability to survive at this level. Hope he performs in the remaining matches and cement his place in the team. We need both him and Anamul to survive at this stage

I was expecting his arrival, at last he is here. He and Anamul just now bring us new hopes for our batting order the gap we were looking for long time to fill up. These kids are here for stay. My new favorite player.

Yeah but you can't play Anamul at 2. His favourite position is 3 so we're still having trouble finding a partner for Tamim full-time. I still say Imrul for ODIs, Ashraful for T20s and ??? for tests as partners for Tamim. Its the only way possible for the moment. Anamul should bat at 3.
