BCB chief has changed but not the people under him. Barring a few most of them dont know much about cricket. A BCB directorship or working in the committee is a prestige or ego thing for them. A nice chance to exercise their power and testosterone. Unless these ppl are moved no professional CEO or president will be able to come and make a difference. Just compare the size of our board, working committee and compare it with other test playing countries. Its killing us.

Some members of BCB are in favour of bringing Siddons as a batting coach. But other members are opposing as dividation among the players may arise again.

BCB need to rethink about the head coach. Probably high profile coaches dont like to spend too much time at Dhaka and wants more leave. To me B C B can accept it.Say Siddons as batting+assistant coach,Ian and saqlain As bowling coach,Julian as fielding coach ,and law as head coach. All will enjoy adequet leaves. I think this will ease up for the foreigh stuffs. BCB need to ease up somethings to retain quality coaches. But a high profile head is a must.

Why? Surely a coach with a demonstrated track record of success would be a requirement in preference to a high profile coach with no coaching track record.

Very interesting. Zimbabwe has removed Grant Flower & Heath Streak from their specialist coaching positions with the belief "too many cooks spoil the broth". Apparently this was done in consultation with the players. Both these guys were doing an excellent job for the team. So can we make use of this opportunity?
Andy Flower and Duncan Fletcher are not the only two well known Zimbabwean coaches, we were also linked to Dave Houghton who politely declined. We also had an excellent CEO from Zimbabwe who did his part to professionalize BCB in the early 2000's. If BCB plays its cards right they might be able to get either or both of them. I reckon they can offer a lot more than the coaches who have applied for the job.

I don't think Flower/Heath have been fired or let go. They just haven't been taken onto the tour, probably for financial reasons. They have effectively been demoted from coach to a consultant.

You are correct. It could be financial reason or what they are officially stating that they dont want too many personnel in their tours. Either way i dont expect them to sit back and wait. Both are very talented coaches and possibly future NT head coach. Its up to us to take advantage of the situation.

Grant Flower applied for head coach position with Zimbabwe team, as Allan Butcher is soon to leave. BCB should snatch him away, he is a much better option (level 4 qualified too) than current contenders for Bangladesh team.

Bringing back Salahuddin and Stuart K are excellent decisions.
I like Sujon, but in the past he had ego clashes with head coaches. I rather like to see Bulbul as the batting coach, he is more knowledgeable in the role to begin with.

Isnt Stuart K conditioning coach of Australian NT?
If Salahuddin is to join as fielding coach what happens to Jason Swift? I doubt Aminul Islam will be interested in leaving his prestigious job for an interim role with the NT. Like Eshen said, Khaled Mahmud has a bit of an ego issue, and i find it difficult to see him working under a caretaker coach.
Also pending is the Under 19 coach role which has been more or less toyed around with since Ali Di Winters time.

do you think even the Best bowling coach in the world can make a significant long term difference for the national team pacers if he is appointed Head coach or bowling coach ????
our problem in pace bowling is we dont produce good pacers is root level, they never learn the basics when they grow up. i dont think thats why a good coach wont make a huge improvement to the shahadat, rubel, rabiul, nazmul, shafiul, abul hasan groups.
we need good coaches who can give guides to bowlers who are growing up, who are aged 12-16. we need good academies where these age group can be targettted and trained up bot physically and mentally.
other wise we will produce the new shahadat, rubel, shafiul and shahadat will never build his pace, shafiul will continue bowling short of lentgh, rubel will continue bowling those full tosses, whoever coach we have in national setup

So much of frustration in your post. India has been running a pace academy for the last 27 years, Sri Lanka for the last 13 years. We? What pace academy? At least appoint an ex player, make that person report to RM. Give the person some budget to scout, bring in young pacers and then train them. And when that persons wants to quit, dont stop the program, hire another coach keep the program running. If only BCB saw things in the same light!
BCB will say they have appointed Ranadeb Bose. This signing was questionable considering he is only a level 1 and has no prior coaching experience. Sri Lanka has three dedicated bowling coaches, 2 for their pace academy, and one for their NT. Now they are thinking of signing up Chaminda Vaas as the 4th bowling coach. Basically they are covering the entire value chain from school to national team.
