Players' nick names
So I've picked a few of them off the stump cameras while watching the Bangladesh games during the World Cup. so far, i'm only positive about the following:
razzak = lala
i would REALLY like to know who moyna is - that title is so shomokami coming from Mushfiq and seeing that it isn't the real name of the guy fielding at mid-wicket at that point.
did you guys come across any others?

not great nicks, but Mushy uses these a lot :
Bashar = Bash
Mashrafee = Mash
Ashraful = Ash/Zizou
* These common ones do sound nice when he says it behind the stumps
Rasel = Rasti
Rafique = Haari (harry... coined by Pilot)

Raffique = I thought he was calling him "Raffiquee" although someone before me in this thread said it's "Haari".

Golla is Javed
Mashrafee is Mash
Rafique is Rafffiqqueeee
Ash is Zizou
Razzak is Lala
Sumon is Bashar bhai
Aftab is ??? (dont know)
He was talking a lot...good sign of confidence..

I think Moyna is Sakib.
BTW the wicketkeeper is getting annoying and quite embarassing. Yells way too much. Specially when he says "your's" to the bowler when the ball gets to the bowler. No sh*t Musfhik, who else would field it, the umpire?

But that nickname is not so uncommon among bangladeshi boys. Many of them have bird's name as nicknames, also shared by girls. I think bangladeshis have a quite casual approach when they select nicknames for their children.

I really want to know who is this moyna.

It's good to have a wicket keeper with a little character. It shows his enthusiasm and his confidence, and that can only be a good thing.

I don't know if you've played cricket at a professional level, but that "yours" is a very common term, used for exactly this situation. This is just a way to alert the bowler. Another thing is, it's a way to motivate the bowler, that he's bowled well and can stop the ball himself. It's just one of those other cricketing lingos (I would say) than something to embarass you about.
