NZ should be happy for their defeats against BD...they learned from their mistakes and applied today beautifully...on the other hand so sad to see SA leaving this tournament where they were one of the favorites...this match will remain in WC cric history as one of the major upsets...

Chock de, Chock de South Africa!
Now NZ to lose in the Semis. These are same old stories, except Australia won't be at the finals and won't trashing a subcon. team.
Great, now this is looking all too easy for India. I really thought this would be the year when SA overcomes their chockness.

I was reading some comments over at a SA cricket forum, and one enraged poster found this:
Quote:
New definition for 'Protea' added to dictionary:
protea [ˈprəʊtɪə]
n
(Life Sciences & Allied Applications / Plants) any shrub or small tree of the genus Protea, of tropical and southern Africa, having flowers with coloured bracts arranged in showy heads: family Proteaceae
[from New Latin, from Proteus, referring to the large number of different forms of the plant]
Alternate:
n
(Human Behaviour/People) any person or group of people who fail under the slightest pressure. Usage: "to choke", "You are a Protea" etc
Considered a gross insult in most cultures that play competitive sports

Amazing! That was one heck of a match. Loved the drama. Sad to see the Saffers bow out like this. Also, I'm not quite sure what to make of NZ's march into the semis...the same Kiwis, who were beaten to a pulp by...wait for it...Bangladesh.
The cricket world has just been turned upside down.
Now, I'm really curious about what the English will do.

I really thought this South African was a bit more resistant to choking... oh well, this is truly a big upset.

If SA only had a Riyad-Shafi, they would have chased 225 home. Too bad for them..
