Probably there won't be any match today as outfield is wet due to heavy rain last night. Points will be shared.

So after all the talk about outfield, the outfield wins

In all seriousness they said it has one of the best drainage in the world and can start a match 15 mins after heavy rain..so unless it rains during the match I don't see why we won't have a full match

it's not expected to rain much further 40% now to 0 in few hours...

I been eagerly waiting for this match and I got no work whole week..so it sucks for me but I don't mind taking a point here actually. I don't think England is one of the easier opponent for us..

Netherland , SL, Pakistan are our must win games. Getting a point here and there rest of the matches and winning one of the other ones would be great.

anyways, game is probably gonna happen and I pray we win... and win nz. We have to beat NZ, law of average in 50 ODI suggest we should.

Must win games - Netherlands, SL, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Assuming we need at least 5 wins to get through to the semis, we'll need to win at least one match against England, Australia, India, SA or NZ. Maybe sharing points today will be a blessing in disguise.

Remember in 2011 CWC, had the opening game against India been washed out we'd have played Quarter Finals.

Sharing a point here would be a huge advantage for us. The ground was already an issue and now with the rain might be an even bigger issue, especially for England

BD players need practice for future games. Sharing a point here wont do us any good. On the other hand, if we somehow win, it will be massive moral boost for the team.

We have had plenty of practice and we just played a game 2 days ago. I would take 1 point over "somehow" winning over the defending champs

If Eng click, it could get ugly real fast for our bowlers. However we don't really have a choice if the weather stays clear.

Actually, a lot depends on the English team. They have been complaining about the outfield. If today the match officials approve the field for playing and England declines, then Bangladesh might even secure 2 points.

However, if England plays, I believe they are going to win. It's a small ground, and even their mistimed hits could result in sixes, whereas our well-timed hits when chasing might get caught at the boundary. If they manage to take early wickets, especially Miraz and Shanto, I don't foresee any other resistance in our batting lineup. This is a fact, so let's not raise our hopes too high. Just enjoy the game.

Not to mention just how bad it'll be for our NRR if they click

Good Luck to Bangladesh team. Have some self belief. England are not at their best like they were four years ago. Only if Bangladesh can handle express pace of Mark Wood they can manage to give their best..

"However, there's a hint of worry in Donald's voice when he acknowledges the challenge of keeping Taskin fit and in form for the entire tournament.

"He's not completely built like a racehorse," he said. "If you manage his energy levels really well and look after him, you will get the best out of him. It's a really long World Cup and managing Taskin will be priority number one.""

He's one of the players I am worried about, especially playing on such a ground

Feel bad for Mullah. Got only 1 over to bowl and didn't get a chance to bat in the last game.

Bangladesh unfortunately do not have a Sports travelling cutlure. There is no reason the stadium should be this empty. It should be half full by Bangladeshis given close proximity. Though Indian visa process needed to be streamlined and made easy for the event. Along with numerous direct fligths from dhaka. There are a lot of logistics behind this. But obviously they haven't even released the venues even couple of months prior to the start. This is where FIFA is so efficient.

I am so glad I didn't travel for this from USA. Was thinking of following the team for a month. The only BD game that will be vibrant full of fans would be against India. that's it. And BD fans would probably be unsafe in that environement.
