I'm assuming we'll take 5 pace bowler, a specialist spinner and 9 batsmen to NZ, Ireland and CT2017 in England. Unless something dramatic happens this is what we are likely to see.

Pace Bowlers in ODIs:
- Mashrafee
- The Fizz
- Taskin
- Rubel
- Al-Amin

He lacked his usual venom due to coming off that recent injury, run up was shorter and just looked rusty. Overall he is a much better option than Shafiul for the NZ series and will shine on those surfaces. I think Haturi will pick him in the squad regardless of his NCL/BPL performances as long as he is 100%

Mash and Mustafizur are auto picks, will be tough picking the 3rd pacer.

Rubel's venom is very potent.

Remember his wicket in the ICC WC '15?

Virat Kohli, the genius?

Bum needed on this thread. Didn't take many wickets, but has been very threatening and if he is aggressive then it just makes the bangladeshi bowling attack a lot stronger.

Also Tamim just spoke about Rubel:

Quote:
“The highlights of the tri-series campaign were the performance of Mustafizur [Rahman], as he returned to his old form and it’s a big plus point ahead of the Champions Trophy. Rubel [Hossain] was simply fantastic in his bowling and the batsmen scored runs,” added Tamim.
Mustafizur showed the glimpse of his early days once again in this series, picking up 8 wickets in just three innings’ to become the second highest wicket-taker of the competition, just behind New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner who played one match more than the Fizz.

On the other hand, Rubel Hossain got to be in the playing XI after a long time. Though he didn’t pick up many wickets, only five to be precise, but the impact of his bowling in the team’s performance can’t be defined just by numbers. Rubel bowled brilliantly in the death overs, and he will definitely be one of Bangladesh’s biggest weapons in the Champions Trophy.

The question that comes though, who comes in as the 3rd seamer's role? Taskin or Rubel?

I like this version of RBX. He's a wicket-taker, not afraid to bowl the yorkers...on and on.

Congrats Rubel on his 100 ODI wickets. He is the second Bangladeshi pacer to achieve the fit after Mash

Congratulations on the milestone. It's no joke for a Bangladeshi pacer. I'm actually a little disappointed it's taken a bit long considering the talent he possesses. You could also say he's been a bit unlucky considering the pitches he has had to bowl on. He has improved as a bowler for sure, but still has areas to work on. I predict he'll end up somewhere between a 150-190 wickets which will be a fine achievement for Bangladesh though I would like to see more match-winning performances of him. He has that ability.

Over the years, our keeper and slip catchers dropped a lot of chances created by Rubel and Taskin. Both of their stats would have looked much better otherwise.

In only limited overs.

Please don't say in test matches

Although Rubel has indeed been quite good in ODIs and I love the guy but the best pacer we have produced is without a doubt Mashrafee. In his heydays before injury Mash was amazing honestly both in Tests and ODIs. Even now after so many injuries and drop in pace Mash is still quite good except for the death overs but Rubel is also much better than the likes of Shafiul and Abul. He has had quite a few match winning spell for us. Hope he carries on without getting injured

Rubel is feeling the heat and is performing... that's a win-in proposition because he is such a talented bowler... sometime he lose his concentration....but he perform under pressure.

Yes, the pics from the cricinfo gallery suggests he is much more happy now.

Rubel announced retirement from Test and FC cricket, to focus on white ball cricket.
