BCB 61/2
Currently batting
Anamul on 20* and Mominul on 0*
The lot depends on this pair.

We'll be lucky to avoid a follow on here and will struggle to draw this match. Lost it when we conceded so many easy runs.

Anamul seems to have got carried away, scoring at free will.
Doesn't matter how flat the pitch is and how easy it is to score, you still have to do the hard work and score those runs. No point scoring at SR 100 but going out on 26 while the team is chasing a huge total just to avoid follow on.

Just ask I speak, Mominul gone too.
116/4 !!

Permaul Veraasammy

Looks really good, played against West Indies A and Took 4 wickets.
Wickets included of Tiwary, Rohit Sharma, Saxena and Kumar, good bowler.

Yeah he's our A-team captain and done very well against India A recently, for Guyana he usually bowls alongside Bishoo aswell, i knew he'd do well on this tour and rumours suggest he might be auditioning for a place in the senior squad when they tour Bang in November.

Score now 159/7 , glad Brathwaite has continued his good form and has two wickets, i'm gussing the follow on would be something over 250? so that might be tough to avoid.

Some of the players obviously thought that they deserved a place in the national side. There's no real motivation for them to perform or to prove their worth I guess.

Khamakha kotojon selector der choddo gushthi ke galagali kore shesh.... For not selecting them... The only guy who will probably come n longer versions in a few years is Anamul.... But the rest are all mediocre...

I hope Anamul and Mominul get centuries tomorrow in the follow on. Its pretty clear they're the only batsman worth anything in this particular side. Bowlers stink too. If we can draw the match by getting around 300-5 I'd take that as a positive into the next match.

It simply shows the BCB has a way to go to develop players that's all.

Other Test playing countries tend to have High Performance Units that have been in place for years, and batting and bowling coaches at development levels who groom players into becoming Test cricketers. Bangladesh hasn't really done this yet, nor has it spent and invested large dollars into making this a reality.

I don't think that Bangladesh players lack talent - they purely lack development into world quality individuals. Elite level players are not found by the roadside, they are developed and evolved.

You get back what you put in... the results are there for all to see at all levels

Completely agree with Ian. I dont know why we fans would consider ourselves better than WI HP team when BD team didnt even have a HP team 2 months ago!! Its not like we suddenly became a First Class team in First Class competition.

You have to give credit to West Indies team too..... We are bashing Anamul/Mominul but what about the bowlers who allowed WI team to pile up that many runs? In fact, I think bowling is the area we need to focus on the most because even at the national side, we don't have quality bowlers 'who can take the 20 wickets' ( remember someone said that and we called him a moron..?) . Our HP side didnt get much time together to get into the groove right after the 50 over matches. Lets give them a break... Also, just keep in mind that WI isnt Kenya or Zimbabwe whom we can take for granted and score 500 runs easily.. Heck even Zimbabwe put much emphasis on their FC structure way before we started.. Lets be realistic in our expectations and not blame the players as much as we should focus on infrastructure and facilities we are providing them..

anamul just short of his 50, hopefully mominul scores some runs, ss on 60+ so far, showing that he has the talent just needs to find the consistency.

We need these boys to play more and more of these longer version matches to develop the kind of temperament needed to succeed at Test level. Clearly the WI squad already has already acquired the discipline our batters lack in the longer format and we need to bridge this gap at the youth level as much as possible by playing more games. This will ensure the gap between the national team skill levels between the two countries can also be reduced in the future.
