Default Ian pont trying to open a pace foundation in Bangladesh

He is asking for donation in facebook. But only £20 raised in 3 days. We need to look at this matter. BCB not doing anything. At least we fans can help start ian to open it. We badly need good fast bowlers to win test matches. http://www.gofundme.com/fastbowling click this link and you can donate

^^Wait wait, Did he contact the BCB? I thought that they will accept something like this. Plus they are already getting more money from the World Cup than they would have expected by making it to the QF. We need to hear from MR. Pont about this.

defo will be good in the long run opening a pace academy in BD. youngster's are going to be motivated to be likes of Mashrafee, Rubel, Taskin. The way 3 of them bowled against England in the biggest event of ICC, the flagship event of ICC THE WORLD CUP, Can only inspire thousands if not millions wanting to be pace bowlers. But, in order from them to come through well, they would need facilities, Academy in each Division is ideal.

I do not think BCB will do anything. I don't trust BCB, hence I do not believe BCB will take any positive initiative like Mr. Pont is trying to take. Time will say how things go on.

In what world does fans pay to open a camp? Only parents donate when they send their little kids to soccer camps. This makes no sense. Tell him to get sponsors. Talk to grameenphone and what not.

I don't understand the obsession with setting up a dedicated pace bowling academy. Australia don't have a national pace academy, they have an academy where all aspects of cricket are addressed http://www.cricketaustralia.com.au/c...cricket-centre. Last time i checked Australia have produced many world class pace bowlers. We have an academy and it took years to set it up. Wouldnt it be better to utilize the existing facilities, improve where needed and engage specialists to run programs all round the year? If Ian Pont really wants to contribute to Bangladesh's pace bowling he could apply for a job at the academy- put together a plan showcasing how he wants to improve our pace bowling and present it to BCB.

True.

What Ian Pont needs to do is take an absolutely nobody, groom them and if that pace bowler gets into the national team that is it for him. Success is the best marketing he will ever get. Take a freaking nobody from Bangladesh and make him an almost Shoaib Akhar, or Dale Steyn or a Mohammed Amir [without the fixing] and watch how sponsors come drooling to you. But the explanation he gives is well should I now fund a player and pay for everything... well okay if not you then why us?

With all due respect, living in Bangladesh I had rather donate money so that people can cover their basic needs...

I am not a "hater" [find it disgusting how if anyone has a different opinion they are immediately labelled a hater these days], I just think Ian needs to rethink about this project. And no, we didn't unearth a 100mph pace demon when he was here. And the projapoti didn't take off.

But all the best. If you are successful in unearthing Bangladeshi pacers, the fans will love and respect you even more. We already do.
