I will put this innings up there with the 151 of tamim and 158 of Ashraful. This innings was absolutely marvellously paced. The last time I saw a Bangladesh batsman play with such grit, such determination was perhaps 12 years ago by one Aminul Islam. I hope we see a lot more of this from Naeem.

Yes, this one is only compare able to the one of Bulbul and may be a little better than Bulbuls one too.
TI and Ash centuries were great, but they fall far low in comparison to this one as a test century, IMO. Because those centuries do not teach anything to the other players, those are sheer individual talent and un orthodox approach.. This was an example for every player in the team, anyone can copy paste this approach to improve their test batting... It was perfect and chance less.

Agree. This ton is definitely amongst the best by a Bangladeshi in Tests.
Well played, Naeem!
Please carry your form into the second innings and the 2nd Test. Love the temperament!

Well done, congratulations. Now cement your place at no 4 for the next 10 years. Work hard on your technique, you've already got the temperament. Wanna see such grit from Nayeem in testing conditions as well.

He frustrated WI players, made them suffer, played with their minds. That was a picture perfect Test innings from Naeem. It seems like our worry for #4 position is coming to an end...

Naeem Islam Is the messiah of Bangladesh cricket. We have been saved, our Test status has been saved. Every little kid in every little corner of Bangladesh should aspire to be like Naeem when he/she grows up.

Really well played Naeem. I was waiting for this day. I hope he will cement his position in test team.
Now I have a question.
1. Why our selectors(Siddons) chose Aftab over Naeem in test match in NZ?
2. How come Rock gets several chances to prove his worth over Naeem in test?

They used to send Mushy in at #8 too, did that for years. I don't understand this.

I was totally surprised to see kids clapping for dot balls today. Even today's kids realize the importance of staying at the crease !!

Look at the ROAR

After a hug from captain Mushfiqur Rahim, Naeem covered his eyes with his forearm, conceivably rubbing off a tear.

Agree sheer briliance ...kudos is due where it belongs and it goes to him for this test like innings and ...I am so glad he played such an innings and also inspired the other end somewhat (before having brain fart by TIK and Shakib). Rest of the batsmen and tailender should take this from him and play as long as they can on 4th day to save the test. Common guys just do it to show respect and also for the team.

Btw, the comparison to current Aus batsmen may have been a bit off, I concede. Naeem Islam's batting style is closer to Bradman's I think.

really happy for him.
Don't know how good technically but with such temperament he will make bowlers bowl extremely well to get his wickets.
But now more challenge a head for him, he won't always get such good batting track & after scoring a hundred expectations will be high.
Let's see how he copes with that.

Pleasant surprise. While we look forward to Anamul and Mominul we have another new candidate. This type of competition will only do good to Bangladeshi cricket

Congrats Nayem, hoping to see more of these in the near future. Just goes to show you hard work pays off, and stats from our FC league is not as bad as we think.

Strong comeback to the national side. He was totally off the radar but kept performing in NCL and other tours.
