Just like the old Cowboys and Giants rivalry, we are starting to see the beginning of some nasty rivalry brewing between the Texas Cowboys and the New York Rangers in the newly minted MLC.

How are we doing with the list of players to be drafted Dilscoop? Although the draft itself must be started at the same time for all teams, publishing the list now will help us sort through 500 of names, not to mention their T20 stats in context, and strategize. That will make the draft go faster and allow for more time for preseason trades before the first ball is bowled. I don't think 500 names are necessary at all for 16 teams. BTW, you have to inform us of the final roster size of each team before we do any of that.

Also, please personally request RazabQ and Al Furqaan to pick up the remaining teams right away. Their knowledge and strategic creativity will greatly enhance the quality of the league. Too bad Beamer and Leafs_Pwn are missing out on the first season. Both are good strategists. Maybe you can send out personal requests to each one of them also. We have very good GMs so far MashAllah and let us keep it that way. Just one unpleasant, trolling, ignorant and rotten apple can spoil the barrel. Please keep that in mind before approving a new GM.

BTW, I got Apple as my second local sponsor.

I PMed ALF and L_P. LP is not active atm. But I don't think ALF is interested, as he is active, but never responded to my PM. RazzabQ, I did not invite him. I didn't think he would be interested in these sort of thing. But now that you say it, I'll drop him a VM/PM.

Yes, good to see very high class members signing up as managers. I'm happy with ALL the GMs so far. And not to mention the likes of you, ATMR, Z took this league to a whole new level, and I'm very pleased to have you ALL in MLC. And when I did invite people I only invited the "high class" members. So far most of them accepted (Moc, TE, KP). I invited BK to lighten things up, but I really need him to tighten up when it's all business. I just need some of you the GMs to read the instructions a little more carefully and follow the steps to make all of our lives easier.

About the players list. As I said, I'm afraid to post the whole list yet. It's a massacre waiting to happen! I wasn't gonna post the hiring coaches/staffs portion yet either. But I did, and looks like not everyone was ready yet! I'll post the official list once I have 16 managers all on the same page. Waiting on Isnaad, Tonoy, Manager 15, Manager 16. (KP have to approve my hires for his team)

But here is a "cheat code:" visit the country pages on CI (including assos.), check the tab "all contracted players." Those will defo be on the list. Check the other T20 leagues from around the world (which are DEAD atm thanks to MLC) and check their top scorers/wicket takers.

That should help. I suggest you guys follow SNR to the CI page and check them out, strategize.

Thanks Commish! That helps me refine my draft strategy

So how many US and Associate players each in the starting lineup again?

1 from each. I have about 60 of them on the list. All decent quality. Plus it's T20, and they are very good at that. So they will be rated bit higher.

About the roster size. At first I was thinking 21, that way you will have 2 full squad. But that could hurt the quality for teams, also it's a bit unnecessary. So I was thinking 16. So you have 5 extra players (never understood the meaning of 15 men squad with only 4 extra player) And then allow the coaches to pick up the leftovers, based on how many their sponsors can handle.

What you think 16?

Also, hint on the schedule, 12 rounds, 48 games, teams play each other twice, h/w. 2 goes through to playoffs, championship/semis, World Series best of 7.

16 on the bench with 4-6 in reserves is good because we want everyone on the bench to play, and the reserves to step in if someone picks up an injury.

I'll probably draft more than the roster size so that I can attempt to trade multiple players for the player I couldn't draft but need. If I cannot trade them, I'll have to cut them but will still have to pay the minimum salary established by the league regardless of whether they're cut.

So how would you establish the minimum? I suggest a flat minimum sum of $125,000 for all drafted players. $150,000 for reserves. $175,000 for bench players and $200,000 for starters. Star players will negotiate individual match fees with their respective GMs.

Payroll budget should be declared by each team before the draft, and after the draft and the end of trades, the salary of each player made public. The details would include base salary as a cut/reserve/bench/starting player plus match fees and bonuses.

Larry Page alone is worth $17 billion and counting and has allocated at least $100 million per year for at least 5 years for player payroll inclusive of match bonuses, but not including championship bonuses.

The SF Sharks will offer:

1) Base salary for cut, reserved, benched and starting players.

2) Negotiated match fee for benched and starting players.

3) Bonuses for match 50s, 100s, 4WHs and 5WHs.

4) MoM bonus.

5) Division Championship bonus.

6) Conference Championship bonus.

7) World Series Championship Bonus.

The amounts would be published as soon as MLC informs us of the base salary for differently slotted players.

Also, you can speed up the draft by allowing 2 picks per team per round. 1 batsman and 1 bowler or 1 all rounder instead of the 1 batsman and bowler.

That way 15 rounds will get each team 30 players to play with before the trade deadline. If a GM isn't present during the draft, we should move on to the next GM rather than waiting for him to show up.

16 on the bench + the starters? Or you mean 16 member squad? I meant TOTAL 16 players/rosters + at the end of the draft managers pick up the left overs.

I still haven't thought about the payroll yet. I'm still working on creating these 400 or so players (+ the requested players if there is any).

I'll talk to you more about it. How should I go about charging the managers, and all that.

Whoa...I saw something about this...but didn't really bother to check up. I did get Dilly's PM and yes, I ignored cuz I didn't know what it was. Still not sure, but I'm interested since Sohel bhai was so kind as personally request my involvement. Can't say no, now!

So what is this exactly? Fantasy cricket with a twist?

Injuries happen so so you have to have a reserve bench included in the roster. So I was thinking:

-11 Starters
-5 Bench
-4 Reserved in case of Injury to any or 4 of the 16

Ya. That's what I was talking about. Except I didn't have a limitation on reserves.

16 rosters + how ever many their owners can handle from the leftover players.

Also, no. 1 player at a time. Because 2 gives the earlier teams a HUGE boost. Middle and lower middle teams will suffer. So I don't like that idea. May be after like 7-8 rounds, we go to double pick/round to hurry up the process.

And I'll PM all the mangers with a date. And ask them to be active. If they won't be available during their turn, they can pm me with 5 choices. If they are all taken. I will randomly select a player for them.

Indeed bro. Great to have you here.

The MLC involves player draft and trades, customized pitches suited to particular home grounds, and simulated home and away matches that factor-in updated player stats (real stats are updated as each performs in real life) and match conditions including real weather. You're the GM/Head Coach.

Two teams are available at the moment so go ahead and pick between Denver or Pittsburgh. Then:

1. Select a wealthy owner.

2. Select a home ground and type of pitch.

3. Jersey sponsor and local sponsor.

4. Batting coach, Bowling Coach, Fielding Coach, Physio and Curator.

Then reveal the jersey the league has designed for your team and wait for the list of players you can draft before the draft begins.

We kinda have to wait anyways. Some of the signed up members still haven't finished the preliminary steps. Plus, I haven't finish with all the players yet. So we will just wait couple more days. I just PMed a member who is certain to join. I'll wait on him. He has a specialized fantasy tag under his nick.

I suggest we do a double picks with a draft lottery once all 16 teams are set. I think there are enough quality players to please everyone, and you can always try and trade for the player you didn't get.
