Its great to see our top order actually bat like a top order.
Our middle order and lower order were dissapointing... However the main reason for loss was bowling...... Other than Sakib, we have no-one. Shahadat did good first innings, but he is very in consistant.

But our bowlers didn't do their job, expecially the fast bowlers. They need to work hard, practice and improve.
This what our captain says after the spinners taking only 3 wickets in the first innings and the pacers bowling only 4 overs in the hopeless 2nd innings. Good identification of the problems continues.

saving was always gonna be tough. remember england could get another extra 30 mins to wrap it up like Trojan (sorry, but i think i'm kind of clever in a disgusting way).
not sure how many overs we ended up batting but we'd prolly needed to have batted 1 to 1.5 hours more (15-20 overs).
all in all, this was not a bad match. we scored about 650, which isn't bad, and almost every test now we threaten the 400 barrier if we don't tear it down. and two of these have been away matches outside the subcontinent's comfy pitches (at NZ and ENG).

Much better show than any of us expected. I seriously thought there was no way we were going to be able to avoid follow on defeat. This gives me hope that as the tour goes on I hope they will play more competitive cricket. As for our bowling department I hope getting a decent bowling coach will solve some of that problem.

Ahmed bhai was right.
Nevertheless a great match.
Mahmudullah should bat at no. 6. Batting at so low we are wasting him.

I really thought that they could have avoided the follow on, seems that Sakib is also forgetting how to bat, sadly, he is following in Ash's footsteps, he could have stayed at the wicket, played a bit defensely for time, and thought more about how many runs to make to avoid a follow on.
Anyhow, they allowed England to score too many runs by wayward bowling which England took advantage of.
I hope that they have learnt something out of this, also Sakib does not set an attacking field when the spinners are bowling.
Still, I am pleased with their batting performance, feels badly that Imrul and Junaid could not get their centuries. No one here praised Junaid, who I thought did very well to score more than 50 in both innings, he had the stamina to witstand Anderson's assault on him, I felt sorry for him, but he showed grit and determination not to throw away his wicket, also jahural did very well, he has a very good temperament.
This match has shown that BD batsmen cannot play the short pitched rising ball and all opposition knows this and will exploit this weakness, Siddons should really use concrete slabs to bowl the bouncing ball to them.
