Mashrafe going at close to 9 runs an overs, while the youngster Mustafizur 3.66
Fizz is world class.

we lost the game by not scoring enough on this pitch which looked quite good for batting and also have fast and small outfield. bowlers did their best to keep us in the game for long with bit of help from inexperience NZ batting line up but losing wickets regularly cost us 30 or so runs

Nz also gave away about 20 runs in misfields

Hogg's comment are even revelant(sweeter) now.

i can understand your frustration but don't be so disheartened bro, at least this loss means we will put up a better show against the Irish on Friday, provided that rain stays away and we get a full game

Are you talking about Nee-shame LBW!?
Hoggy would be more shameful than the Irish umpire...to talk about that decision!!

In general. That no-LBW was a game changer. I feel for Miraz when he was pleading to the rookie umpire.

good bowling from Fizz as expected but still not very comfortable bowling against the left hand batsmen which he needs to work on perhaps bowling from around the wicket may help or something

Well, it's part of the game, though that decision impacted the game in a greater extent (in the context of the game) IMHO.

To me we lost the game when we failed to set a target of 285+. To me 257 in this smaller field created no pressure to the opponent...tara heshe khele reached theh target.

Sabbir batting at three lost the game. Need his hitting in the latter overs.
The decision to play sabbir at three is the worst strategy.

Over the recent years, we have seen teams scoring over 300 runs and still losing the match in these English conditions. In the champions trophy there will be plenty of runs, scoring 260-270 won't be enough. Then again, we also have problems with chasing scores. These things should be addressed.

Like I mentioned - that not one of SS, Mushy or Riyadh got the big score is the reason. We don't have any power in our long tail so one out of the top 6-7 has to go big. We were easily 20 runs short an then our spinners (looking at you Shak and Miraz) were VERY inconsistent with their lengths.

New Zealand are one of the best ODI sides in the world now – it's amazing how far they have come after the 11 world cup. It's an embarrassing loss since this was literally their B side. Our batting is just not at the level of India, New Zealand, Australia, England and South Africa.

I don't think we even beat NZ after the last two Banglawashes. Did we? I think NZ took those losses wayy too seriously.

not pointing my fingers at anyone in particular, but a few months ago many BC members were crying for Sabbir at #3 so that Bangladesh can post 300+ consistently. These people now disappeared

This would be my lineup, whether you agree with it or not.
1. Tamim
2. Sarkar
3. Mosaddek
4. Riyad
5. Rahim(wk)
6. Shakib
7. Sabbir
8. Mash(c)
9. Mehedi/Taskin
10. Rubel
11. Fizz
Mash had a really off day. very rare for him. Probably one of the worst performances from him in recent times. I expect that to improve as tour progresses.

It was also really nice to see Rubel Hossain firing after a long time. There are many many positives to take away from this game. Most of BD batsmen now should be in form(apart from Sabbir). The pitch had something for everyone. Bangladesh's strike spinners lack of bite and lack of firepower at death plus poor bowling from Mash and poor captaincy cost us the match. Mosaddek should have been used at the middle overs and Shakib should have been saved for a couple of overs at death.
Fizz also looks like in decent touch so far.

I like this
Mossadek is a proven FC batsman, I sure he can handle the #3 position.
He should have bowled more in this match. I don't know what kind of brain fart Mashrafe had.
