Faruq needs his HEAD! And so does some of the members here.
The qualifying criteria are different for Rokon than some other players. The criteria is so dynamic that it doesn’t have any shape and the goals changes like ‘morichika’.
Rokon needs to prove in Domestic League..
He proved! Oh well… no no !! Domestic league is too weak. He needs to prove in warm-up matches against touring teams.
He proved! Oh well …. No No… ZIM team is too weak. He needs to continue performing with team-a.
Now if he is selected and continue performing in team-a,… you know they will find one excuse after another…. Like "that team was a weak team", "his higher scores were when team had no pressure", he scored a 0 (even his ave. may be 40+ for example), you just make up your own.
Why this hide-and-seek game?
Just tell him, “You are not going to be selected, never. We just don’t like you!”

Did everybody forget WC2003?
He scored 170+ out of 125+ deliveries against Namibia in a practice match. But he failed miserably in the real matches.
He's had enough chance in 2-3 years. I don't think selectors are being very rude to him.
If someone deserves little sympathy, then it's Tushar Imran. He got much less chance than Rokon in both test and ODI.

Right now Rokon's #1 reason for not being in the team:
He is against Spreading Democracy and Freedom.

Rokon has been found guilty of tarnishing Bangladesh's image with poor batting performances in the past - that is the main problem I think.

Everyone is bitching about rokon having enough chance.
What about kapali? He is the most over-rated player in BD team. He performs miserably yet gets called over and over again for no obvious reason. I think rokon deserves another chance, even if he performs badly I dont mind, not that it would make any differance from the other players who are performing miserably. Atleast we would know that he was given a chance and didn't perform.

Al Shahriar last test innings was againt Aus in 03:
Al Sahariar c & b MacGill 36 72 52 3 1 (2nd ins)
Last domestic:
Averaged 46.85 in 03-04 domestic 4-day
Averaged 28.00 in 03-04 domestic ODI
40+ average in GDPL in 03-04
Not enough I guess for a recall.

It does not matter. He played bad in wc and made us look like a fool and everyone else played so well that we won the worldcup!
I know I can't reach the selectors, but I seriously want to know why some of the bd fans hate him. I mean if you hate him then why not ALok,Aftab, Rajin, Ash et all. Why we r so angry on this guy ?
Apart from the 36 runs against Aus in Aus in ODI, he had 30 odd avg on Test matches and yet all the above mentioned played/dropped/again played with 20 odd avgs in Test matches or low. It's just silly the way we level a player. We did the same with Rafique when he first came in. All started telling that he is an ODI player and Moni is better. Selectors make irresponsible comments and public start to follow it blindly. The real thing is, when Rokon came in, Faruq was dropped from the national side.

welll i personally think rokon got many chances to prove himself. but at the same time, i believe he is a class player who can change the game alone. so why not give him another chance. afterall we are losing the series anyways. we need something drastic now. losing to zimbabwe like this is not acceptable.

Plenty of Rokon Fans Here! Lol! Yeah Rokon could be brought back, but as a middle order batsman. But we will have to wait...

Jahir Elahi the best batsman?
this has been the scenario in the domestic league for too long now. foreigners rule the competition, and this must stop. our players better start performing now. these foreigners are nothing but B - team class in their own nations.

Now after giving a second thought I am so glad that Rokon or Nafees Ahmed was not selected and associated with this team. I hope they are not selected for the last two games also. This series is doomed to be a major major failure. Rokon or Nafees cannot change the result by themselves. You see at the players, the selectors, and the fans…. they all are in 'panic' mode. Now whoever will be selected, will be a candidate for scapegoat.
So Rokon (as well as his fans) should be thankful that he is not selected for this series.
What a good break for Rokon!
