He isn't.

He is going to play more but the chances are this is his last series as a captain.

The recent comments oh ami ki chor naki? Ami lojja keno pabo...is one such example of his flowery language.
This. His rhetoric never impressed me. But there was a time his leadership skills in the team made me his fan. I still think he is a good captain and players respond to him well.
He is still an ICON of Bangaldesh cricket and deserve our respect for that.

But some of his fans took their devotion to the next level (like that guy Rinat) where you can not even question his political motives and his clear and utter disingenousness. Every move that he makes all of a sudden look self served if can see it objectively -- including playing with bad knee.

What is the goal here ?? he wants to carry us to an ICC trophy?? MOFO ran an election just before world cup (didn't give up WC dream nor his political dream) - meaning he cared neither for the team nor for his constituents - he only cared for himself.

in wc, he LIMPED during fielding - - everyone in stadium had MASHRAFEE playcard/banner in their hand while i wanted to spit at him. He wanted the show for himself without performance. Shakib didn't get that much attention - arguably the best player of the tournament. and he just did it without a fuss. MO(SH)FO is a drama queen.

also you get transferred out of your hospital if you criticize him and call him a thug (which is such an accurate assessment by that doc). Another of this appeal to emotional sides of bengalis with his bollywood hero thuggery.

can Rinat list all the achievement mashrafee accomplished since appointed MP? Objective data please.

Hope our selectors monitored how Srilanka and South Africa initiated reform post-World Cup to salvage from further disaster. It requires hard judgement above sentiments. Gotta replace this "Putu Putu" nature with any nepotism behind. As the PM would say, "ekjone manusher koto taka laage!"

Look at South Africa, only performing seniors remain. A systematic replacement of all non-performers including their WC captain now giving them a chance to win an AUS series with valor and pride.

Good thing going on for us is that we have future capable players. However, need to get rid of the senior pipeline who can't play anymore. I respect MASH but its time to go.

Lol religious Mash fans went off at me last time I mentioned his poor captaincy once.. He is basically immune to criticism on here. The logic behind continuing as a player after relinquishing captaincy is baffling.. The whole point of him in the team is what he brings with his captaincy because he's the weak link with the ball.. Plus this would have been the ideal scenario to retire in a winning home series.

so it begs the question -- does he deserve to be in the playing 15 or even 11? He was previously selected because of his captaincy and leadership qualities.

now that he is not a captain anymore, I don't think his performance is good enough to keep his spot in the team. time to groom a young seamer.

I don't understand why doesn't he just retire. he has a full time role as an MP and what more can he possibly gain as a cricketer?

Lol what does retiring as captain mean? BCB already made it clear that he won't be the captain after the Zimbabwe series. Why is he dragging this out and making it painful for all involved. You are 36 years old (officially), have had a long successful career, have had your fair share of injuries. Just hang it up.

Bd cricket is like a whore, that everyone gets to screw. Papon, Mash, Rahim, all the imbecile reporters, low expectation hivemind fans, rest of corrupt BCB board, Shakib's temptations at fixing, pathetic facilities and world's most overrated stadium, foreign coaches wanting a ICC head coach job. All are gang banging the team.
