BDFlag Congratulations Rahim on a great comeback innings

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil A'lamin

81 off 80. started great, looked a little rusty in the middle but came back very strongly after that muscle cramp in the 40th over.

Credit to Mahmudullah too for what he does best: Support the hero of the day
Congrats to Nafees too for showing positive intent and "not getting dropped" for another series after this one

Criticism: We should have taken the powerplay maybe a couple of overs earlier.

It was a great innings. The partnership between Riyadh and Rahim is a good example of how we should approach our batting. They were scoring singles easily in the middle overs and at least one of them carried the innings till the end.

And we do not need painstacking 50s from Tamim and Shakib to score respectable 200+.

Not gonna go overboard with praise, I can't remember the last good innings from him. He needs to realize, batting isn't like doing your taxes, you can do it more than once a year mate!

But well done for delivering when the team needed someone to stand up today.

To show where the problem lies. The team should back each and every player in the XI. Instead of putting all the pressure on a certain Ashraful or Tamim or Shakib does not help. When they fail, others have to carry on.

Mushy looks so classy when he is on song.
but unfortunately like most of our btsmen he is very inconsistent too,but surely got the potential.

It was indeed a well planed innings after a long time... was it a new signal the Rahim is back or just a fluke? Only time will tell.

But it was indeed a very enjoyable knock under very difficult situation.

If you look back at his ODI record, and I was surprised to see that he hasn't had a long run of bad form. His real poor form happened during the WC and he did ok prior to that but did have another off-form patch during the Asia Cup. Perhaps our negativity about his batting is colored by our negativity about his keeping?

Among the current Bangladeshi top/middle order batsmen, Mushfiq still holds the lowest average, despite so many not outs.

But yeah, today he played an excellent innings.

i was lucky to see two good innings in the stadium today.

First Mushfiques .... 81

then Watsons 185 ..... though it gave me enjoyment and also hurt me the same time

Mushy had plenty of starts over the years, but just couldn't convert them. I'd bat him ahead of Shakib only if he was a bit more consistent.

It was great the way Mushy and Riyadh pulled us to a defendable total after Nafees threw away his wicket after being the lone warrior to that point.

Between them, Tamim, Shakib, Raqibul and Imrul scored 19 runs in 74 deliveries (thats 12+ overs). We still had 3 wickets in hand.

If Tamim's role is the hit or miss guy, why not bring him in later so the team doesn't lose morale early and he can use the batting powerplay. Imrul and Raqibul may have their days or even stretches but having them almost surely guarantees the team can not break 250.

Boss the reason for this might be something to do with the fact that those are Imrul Kayes' stats

I have always said that Rahim can come to the squad as a batsman. but his keeping falls short lots of times.

impressive hitting towards the end of the innings. age konodin eibhabe pitae khelte dekhi nai. loved it.
